On Wednesday, 15-year veteran Isaac Bruce made a decision regarding his future in the NFL as the 36-year-old wide receiver informed the 49ers he will be returning for the 2009 season. According to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee, Bruce called head coach Mike SIngletary this morning and informed him of the news.He led the 49ers with 61 catches and 835 yards in 2008, while also surpassing Tim Brown for the No. 2 spot on the NFL's all-time receiving yards list.
With Bryant Johnson signing a deal with the Lions earlier this offseason, the 49ers have little experience at the wide receiver position outside of Bruce. In '08, Josh Morgan, a sixth-round pick out of Virginia Tech, hauled in 20 passes, while Jason Hill, a 2007 third-round pick out of Washington State, caught 30 passes for 317 yards.
Bruce signed with the 49ers prior to the 2008 season after spending 14 years with the Rams. He was originally a second-round pick out of the University of Memphis in 1994. He's caught 1003 passes for 91 touchdowns in his career.

I love the idea of Bruce coming back...but?
I thought the 49ers policy on wide-outs was cut old guys when they get good and draft new guys.
