Apparently Michael Vick has not spent all his time in prison making license plates. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that the former Falcons QB has written a book, and is now looking for a co-author to help refine it as he gets ready to leave a halfway house and return to society. While Vick's book may help him as he works his way out of bankruptcy, it hurt his chances of getting back on the football field. Until that book is released, it's a potential land mine for any team considering taking the risk of putting Vick on the field. If he comes across as unrepentant in the book, you can look for even more protests from PETA and others.
And no matter what he writes, it's a lose-lose situation for a team that has him on the roster. Even if Vick begs for the public's forgiveness in the book , it still ensures that he'll get another wave of questions about dog fighting when the book comes out (publishers expect authors to do some publicity), which is not something that any NFL team will want to see.

I will definatly read this book when it comes out. Michael Vick did many screwed up crap with the dogs. And I am very angry at him for doing such a un-human thing. As a owner of 3 dogs(2labs, 1 maltese), I was saddened and angered by what he did. But now, thats the past. He has payed his debt to society and he should be given a 2nd chance. So all the Michael Vick haters, and people who disagree, you guys need to cut the guy a break, HE ISNT GOD.
Amen

everyone is entitled to second chances and none of us are perfect. He has spent his time in jail he shouldnt be made to suffer more punishment. DO not judge. Instead, try to understand that person and the maybe the life that person had growing up. All of our experiences make us who we are and we all learn from out mistakes. (at least we are supposed to) and anyone who thinks Vick doesn't deserve another shot is wrong and I hope one day you aren't judged when it matters like you judge others. I'm not a religous person at all but i believe in god and I believe in people. I believe almost all of us have good in us and only a very few are pure evil. mike vick is not evil, he just got out of touch with reality.

"Peta" types it is time not to be inhumane with people. If you can't be humane with people - then you don't really like animals either - you are just playing politics. He has gone through and education period (taming, training for those who don't understand humans), and he has paid his debt and taken the punishment. It is time to let him walk again with better functionality. Don't spread hate it is blinding to those who you cause to despise learning - by inhumane treatment of people.

No matter what the book says - the writing shows he was thinking, and using his time wisely in prison. Isn't that what we want? for people to work on better functionality when they return to society? The book will also help him survive and pay off some debts, rather than adding to the decline of our economy. Good thing, and I hope it helps him, along with all the people he can influence and encourage to be better citizens. Don't twist it - it's a good thing - I would take Mike on my team any day - being a good football player and showing up for practice and games was never one of Michael Vicks problems - and I am sure his teammate skills will have improved even more through this experience. Sign him.

TEAMS - if your smart - Sign Michael Vick. He will be an even better teammate and player after this personal growth period, and it will be nothing but an encouragement to all people who want to pursue a better life. Don't be fooled by hater's and politics. Vick's return would be a very good thing - it is humane - exactly what the naysayers are claiming to promote (good treatment).

For me, if Vick is not aloud to return - I feel it will be like a dark cloud over the whole football season; and I am an animal lover. I really can't imagine what every Sunday will be like - when my favorite entertainer's have denied me the right to see justice for a very skilled laborer in my favorite positive source of entertainment - FOOTBALL.

HOW TO BLOG - Click New Users - type Name and email - They will send you a password to your email. Let's get Vick back on the field - I don't want to be bored and upset all season - I also don't want mafia gang to have another tool to brainwash all their gangster slaves into thinking thinking everybody hates them - as that will grow the army rather than build a bridge to those who fall victim to the lies of no hope.

Sounds like he's broke and wants another avenue to make money because he doesn't know if he'll play in the NFL again.

Seeing Dog's rip apart each other and the wounds inflicted, the pain and suffering is Horrible in itself. Then exucuted to make Vick and his demonic buddies get off even more should have thier gentials amputated so they can't reproduce that kind of humans. I feel any money his ass get's from book's,interview's ,TV ,Radio,Internet ETC. should go to help save and protect dog's and other animal's.And he should be banned from the NFL.

Why shouldn't Vick be let back in the league?Hes done his time for the crime so why punish him twice. The nfl allows drug addicts and dealers back in the league to continue their careers both on the field and off the field. So why should he be treated in differently. What a person do when they leave there work place is their business.PETA shouldn't be allowed on the permises to protest. This is the NFL not a dog show.Who knows what in these people background.Maybe someone should protest them.Just because they're dog lovers and not NFL lover, don't give them the right to try and take someone elses enjoyment away.If it was Tom Brady or Peyton Manning no one would be saying a word.

Well, if Michael Vick doesn't play a down in the NFL next season, then the NFL will have nobody to blame but themselves about the mediocre quarterback situation getting worse. He has served his time in jail, he has served his time in a halfway house, so I don't see why he needs to serve his time on the sidelines after that. He's still a talented QB.

You think Michael Vick should be forgiven? Come to the Humane Society where I work to see what has happened to those dog. We have rescued pits that here used for fighting. They were tortured and tormented to make them fight. If they could play football better then Vick he would rot in jail.
