Traffic leading into Miami Beach was backed up heavily following the death of a pedestrian in a traffic accident early Saturday. Police say the man was struck and killed by a Bentley owned and operated by NFL wide receiver Donte Stallworth.Stallworth has not been charged, according to the police, but law enforcement officials have confirmed that Stallworth was driving the Bentley when it killed the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was hit by a car and killed Saturday morning at 7:17AM ET on the McArthur Causeway, and apparently, law enforcement officers drew blood from Stallworth at the scene, but stated that it was too early to determine whether or not the wide receiver was impaired while driving.
Stallworth's Bentley was taken to the police station this afternoon "with heavy front-end damage and without a passenger side mirror."
The wideout currently resides in a Miami Beach penthouse and has had issues with the local police in the past relating to automotive charges, including a resisting arrest charge in 2006, although police officials have stated that he is cooperating with their investigation.

I agree also... These AOL reports are so biased. Who cares about the football player, a human being was killed. How about a report on the person who died? I bet thier life was just as interesting as someone good at a sport.
Just the average american opinion.( sorry AOL)

Stallworth just loves to hurt people, doesn't he?
First he steps on, and impales Braylon Edwards' shoeless foot in practice with his cleats, and then he goes and runs over someone with his car.

How can you say this man goes and run over someone with his car? Do you know if he was trying to hit this dude or the guy step in front of the car and it was unavoidable.Get all the facts before you comment.

FirstClassMeal, AOL is not a news agency. They only let us look at the news articles from other agencies. In this case it was RSS. Most Internet providers like to use sources like RSS because RSS continually updates it's material instead of just publishing one news article and possibly not updating for days or not at all. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. People like yourself enjoy trashing AOL for it's news stories, but in reality AOL is just re-reporting news from other sources.

All of you are completely missing the boat here. Forget about who was involved!! What in the world was a pedestrian doing crossing a causeway in the first place? A causeway is like an expressway and cars are going 55-70 miles an hour. I can't believe all of you think this guy is guilty without knowing all of the information on what occurred.

How ironic is this whole situation.... A harding working pedistran is coming home from working after earning money to support his family... probably the typical football fan... and a guy who gave no effort making millions for 17 catches with his new team, takes him off the Earth.... Only God knows the purpose of this tragic situation for that family of the pedistrian, but it sure highlights the greed and carelessness of the entitlement rich athletes express across this country.... They use steriods to obtain fake statistics to earn huge contracts. They get huge contracts then hide out on the injured reserve list. This particular player gave no effort last season, his first season for the Cleveland Browns... He took out our star receiver by stepping on his foot with cleats and ruining a complete season of high expectations. He was arrogant about his production based on his salary.... and now this... he's out celebrating a huge bonus he never earned playing a game for a living, and takes out a family man that is busting his butt to make a living to care for his family.... I just don't see the justice in this all thing.... how is the NFL going to respond to this tragic event caused by a less then respectable player in the NFL.... his first runin with the authorities before this accident reeks of the arrogance he has..... stating to authorites pulling him over was gonna cost them big time...Hey Donte.... look what you just cost this man's family.... I hope the Cleveland Browns, at the right time, do something like set up college funds for this victims children, I know it would not bring their lost loved one back, but it definately would help a grieving family in need..... Please Mr. Lerner make a human statement to this working class family.

Will yet another black man walk away from murder unscathed. We shall see. Then it will be OJ, jayson williams, ray lewis, etc. I wonder when as a nation we will finally feel that we have done enough to pay the black man back for the slavery their own people sold them into.
