Earlier this week, Denver Broncos management attempted to mend some of the fences between them and one of their most important employees, Jay Cutler. The Broncos came away from the phone call in good spirits, thinking they had made significant progress in alleviating the drama. Thursday, Cutler put his mansion up for sale. Whether or not the two are related isn't totally set in stone, but it seems a bit curious that he would decide to sell a $2 million house in this economic climate -- a mere three days after a conversation his bosses seemed to think was a positive one.
It should be noted that Cutler still owns a penthouse condo in the Denver area. It's feasible he just doesn't want his massive house in the area anymore, and that he'll spend the regular season in the condo. On the other hand, it would be an awfully big coincidence, considering the timing. Cutler apparently believes he's going to be traded before the NFL draft.
Putting a 7,500 square foot house on the real estate market seems a bit more than lip service. He's not bluffing. It looks like he's ready to get the hell out of Denver. If that's the case, then this whole fiasco has been completely botched by management, and it could be a black cloud hanging over Josh McDaniels in his first head coaching gig.
Then again, I'm sure there will be another update within the next day in this soap opera. Stay tuned.

I was on Cutler's side when this all started, but unless him being traded is a sure thing now (which I doubt), he needs to chill out and get back to being a football player. If he's with the Broncos next season, it'll be good for nobody to have a tiff with the FO and coaches, so get over it and chalk it up to rookie coach mistakes.

I was on his side at first also, but cutler needs to grow up. He is acting like a spoiled little kid.. Football is a business and he needs to realize the team can trade him if it is what they want.. Jay, grow up

Botched by management? Are you serious? Jay Cutler has acted like a baby since day 1. Can you imagine if LT pitched a fit like Cutler when the Chargers mentioned maybe trading or releasing him?
Trades are a part of the business and for Jay Cutler to act this way proves the Broncos are probably a better team without him....

I really don't like Cutler, and he's been a complete baby throughout this. However, if you shop a pro bowl player secretly and can't get the job done, you better find a way to keep him happy. Most athletes of this caliber would react harshly to hearing news like this, and they took that risk by shopping him. Again, I'm not defending it, because I think everyone should realize it's part of the business.
Your LT example isn't a great one because he's past his prime. Cutler is entering his.
Plus, management's most recent "attempt" at pleasing him was by saying, "Well, Jay, we aren't gonna trade you. But, we are constantly evaluating talent and might make a move."
So, what is it? Is he off the trading block or on it?
That's my point. It wasn't a defense of Cutler, because he's been really inexcusable in this as well. I just don't think the front office has done a very good job through the whole process.
I likely should have included these thoughts above, so thanks for calling me out on it.

I hope he does get traded. Right to the Redskins for Campbell and Rogers / Griffin. It would appear to me to be a fair trade.

couldnt agree more, but at the same time..i have some faith in campbell. IF campbell performs well this season then good, let him stay. If campbell performs bad, kick his ass.

Are you kidding? I'm a huge Redskins fan, & there's no way that's a fair trade! Cambpell is going to be better & more comfortable this year in his 2nd year with Zorn. The O-line is what failed him at the end of the year last year. The O-line will be improved this year. And Rogers? He's a definite top 10 corner in the League! Grifffin? He's a bit aging but still a very good DT. For 1 Mediocre QB? No WAY!

Trade away C-los? Are you kidding me?! That would make Fred Smoot our CB #2....not good. I love me some Smoot but he's too inconsistent to be a 1st/2nd string...he'll do really well in press-man coverage and then all of sudden, get burned by 34 year old Amani Toomer for a TD (that one hurt...)
Like I said, I love me some Smoot but he belongs in the Nickel~

I agree with Auntjoemama1 on this one. There is no way that the Skins need Jay "the cry baby" Cutler. I know JC hasn't yet produced a good year, but he's got it in him. Remember around week 8 of last year? They were saying JC for league MVP. And he was doing well until his protection broke down. WAY DOWN. He will get one more year to prove himself. Zorn will not be easily swayed from a QB i'll bet.

Cutler come on dude let it go. Your acting like a spoiled little brat and really as of today as a fan maybe its better you go some other place to play football. You seem to want to be bigger than it and know one should be bigger than the football team. Oh heck trade the little cry baby to Dtroit for a couple 1st rounders and see how cry baby like playing for a team that looses every year.

The Cutler and TO thing is very funny. too bad that would never happen. By the end of the season Cutler would probably just be in the locker room, on the ground rocking in the fetal position. Egad, he's the biggest cry-baby QB since Chris "Phantom Sack" Everett.

The Broncos need to trade Cutler straight up for Tarvarian Jackson. Brad Childress thinks he is the greatest QB in the league. (Jackson), it would be a coup for Denver.

THe media and McDaniels are to blame for this @@!##. Jays not the problem its fans like you who can be so easily brainwashed by the media. If the media told you the sky was falling you would be running undergroung you bunch of punks. Back off Jay, your not a real Bronco fan. Jay has a 48 million dollar contract. If they ship him to detroit he still makes the remainder of his contract. Jay's average of 8 million a year means he makes about 150 times the average American HOUSEHOLD's salary. To throw a ball.
In Detroit the median household income was 28k in 2000. 28k! Do you know how offensive it is to hear a man making 8 million a year complain that he might be asked to throw a ball inside a stadium in your city 8 times a year? Think about that. This punk kid in one year makes more than whole blocks of Detroit citizens make in 10 years combined. So while the nation falls apart and people suffer, this whiny brat sniffles that his boss thought about sending him to a new city (with the same salary). Detroit citizens should be so lucky.
*I'm not from Detroit, don't live there and I love capitalism. But I also don't dig on QBs braying about a fat contract being fulfilled in a new state. Most Americans would be amped to move to any city for 1 million a year, let alone 8.

I dont care where this A--HOLE ends up!!! Just so its not Denver--- It would be wise, FINALLY for a coach to send a signal to a Jerk who makes tons of money- Get the hell out of dodge- WIMP ASS--Just GO---Cant hurt the Broncos anyway since they stink and are on the way UP????? Might as well rebuild with a young , decent-unknown QB
