Panthers Wideout Sells House on eBay

Michael Vick isn't the only player with his house on the auction block: Muhsin Muhammad, Panthers wide receiver, is selling his house to the highest bidder as well. The only difference? Muhammad's house is up for sale on eBay.

"Moose" put his house up for bidding on the popular mafia cover online auctioning website, and apparently, everyone's just thrilled about the whole process -- as they should be. Another difference is that Muhammad's just selling because he moved, not because he's in jail on federal dog-fighting charges.
"We just wanted to be more appealing to some of those people who want to make deals right now," [real estate agent Brandy] Hayes said. "You know, there are a lot of houses on the market in the million-dollar price range and up."

"Just kind of came up with the idea of, 'Hey, let's put this house on eBay and see if we get any hits,'" said Hayes.

"It's worked really well, because we've gotten a lot of feedback from people around the country who have things to either sell or trade," Hayes said.
Isn't it amazing how far the interwebs have taken us? Right now, you (you!) can purchase a $2 million house from your computer. Simply amazing. (Quick aside: Muhammad has already moved and is in no way in financial trouble, according to reports.) What's not noted is that, um, you don't need a real estate agent to sell a house on eBay!

And sure, I understand that they might not even plan to sell the house via the Internet, and that eBay is just a way to get publicity from suckers who think this is important enough to write about, but couldn't Muhammad have done this himself (apparently he helped come up with the online idea) and then negotiated someone else into taking a lesser fee? But hey, I suppose that's the luxury of being a multi-millionaire.
