John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Texans are close to a deal to send Sage Rosenfels to the Minnesota Vikings for an undisclosed draft pick (maybe a fourth-rounder). The teams discussed this trade last year, with reports that the Vikings offered a third-rounder, and the Texans holding out for a second.Rosenfels is considered by his Texans teammates as someone who was a "1A" option at quarterback. He's a good locker room guy, a hard-worker, and smart player. He can make big plays, but his biggest problem is his propensity to throw interceptions.
Rosenfels had one more year left on his Texans contract and was disappointed he wasn't traded last year so that he would have an opportunity to start. Some Texans fans will be disappointed to see him go, given the way he filled in when Matt Schaub was repeatedly injured. Other fans will be glad they got any draft picks for the Rosenchappa before his contract was up.

For a fourth rounder, bring him on! At the very least, he'll provide some competition for Tarvaris Jackson and have an opportunity to start for a playoff caliber team.

u guys are tripping. tarvas jackson is young an also why are the coaches trying to keep him in the pocket when times he can run the ball. this is his secound year starting i think u should give him one more year. if u want another quqarterback let gus go he is too old and go after vick.

"trading the wrong quarterback" do you know anything about football, the only problem with Schaub is his health issues, otherwise he is a solid qb. Sage Rosenfels is just like Ferotte, except younger, I wouldn't be surprised to see Jackson beat them out and become the starter in the opener. I like Garcia better.

Man, I can`t believe there is ANYONE out there willing to even consider T-jerk as an option at QB ever again. more time ?? This team is Super Bowl caliber right now, with 1 exception... The most important position on the field. C`mon people, enough Jackson already ! And Childress for that matter, these two SUCK !

tarvas jackson need one more year . the coach need to go . tarvas need m vicks quarterback coach. to teach him when the right time to pass and the right time to run. the viking coaching staff sucks. they also need another good full back for adrian peterson. then one more offensive tackle. laeve tarvas jackson alone.
