Colts Agree to Cut Marvin Harrison

Marvin Harrison made it abundantly clear that he wants nothing to do with the Indianapolis Colts next season, asking for his release after the team asked him to take a pay cut.

And the Colts, acquiescing to his request, have agreed to release the always popular but recently troubled wide receiver, according to his agent Tom Condon.

"Basically, we were not able to come to any kind of agreement, it was not contentious and the Colts have agreed to release him," Condon said in a phone interview.

The good news, as Condon indicates, is that the split happened without anyone's feelings really getting hurt. Now there's the question of where Harrison ends up. Adam Schefter mentioned Philadelphia as a possible destination, and frankly, it almost makes too much sense, even if teams like Chicago and Minnesota might be more wideout-desperate.

Donovan McNabb recently alerted the Eagles he wouldn't be signing an extension until he saw their offseason moves, McNabb and Harrison both played at Syracuse together, and while Harrison wouldn't be a monster playmaker, he'd be an outstanding complimentary receiver for McNabb who could probably teach DeSean Jackson a thing or two about catching the ball and taking it into the end zone in the proper manner.
