There is a pretty good chance Terrell Owens has played his final game as a member of the Dallas Cowboys, as a number of people in the know seem to think it's simply a matter of when, and not if, the team decides to part ways with its controversial receiver. Following his two-day stint in the Cowboys front office, Dan Reeves spoke of a tug-of-war battle between the Keep Owens camp and the Dump Owens camp, while NFL reporters such as Jay Glazer, Adam Schefter, Peter King and Ed Werder are all convinced the Dump Owens side will prevail in the end.
Michael Lombardi of National Football Post is also convinced the Owens saga is about to come to a close in Dallas, only he throws another possibility into the quagmire.
Maybe Jones can work a trade out to send Owens to the Raiders since they have a huge need at wideout and have never been afraid to take on a big challenge. This will be interesting to follow as it develops.Oh, yes, please. This has to happen. I don't think there's a more perfect match in the NFL than Terrell Owens and the Oakland Raiders. Dysfunction meets dysfunction in a union that can only be summed up in four simple words: get your popcorn ready.
Seriously though, as far as actual football goes this is a perfect match as the Raiders do have a glaring need at the receiver position. After all, Rookie Johnnie Lee Higgins was the only wide receiver on Oakland's roster to catch more than 20 passes in 2008.
Beyond that, and as Lombardi correctly points out, Raiders owner Al Davis is never afraid to take on the challenge of signing a player the rest of the league considers to be a problem child.
In terms of entertainment value, this is simply off the charts. Owens has failed to co-exist with proven, established quarterbacks such as Jeff Garcia, Donovan McNabb and Tony Romo. What's he going to do when JaMarcus Russell, continuing to go through his early-career growing pains, is sending passes to his feet, over his head and behind him?

Oakland seems to be the place where players on the downside of their career go to kill their career.

Oakland has enough problems - they don't need a bellyacher like TO. The Raiders are trying to develop a team for the future and they do not need bad apples and bad examples for their younger players. Talent does not mean everything; TO has always been a loudmouthed, self-centered non-entity. Any team he plays for is doomed to lose.

One word comes to mind: DISASTER. A young QB like Russell does not need a trouble-maker like TO ragging about how he's not getting enough touches, throws are off the mark, etc. The Raiders are in a rebuilding mode, starting with team morale. TO does not fit the mold of a rebuilder. That doesn't mean the Raiders (aka Al Davis) won't sign him. But it scares the h*** out of me! Who knows, though, maybe Cable can tame the wild beast. But I doubt it. One thing, if TO doesn't behave, they won't be afraid to bench him, and then you'll really have a show!

I can see how this might work. You have a renegade team whose door is always open to malcontents, and in JaMarcus Russell, T.O. would have a young QB who probably idolizes him and he could push around for as many throws as he wants. I just know I wouldn't want to be the #2 receiver, because he just became an also-ran if this happens.

To ADAM, players don't come to Oakland to kill their career, they come to Oakland for opportunity. Its not the Raider camp's fault that the person has their own selfish reasons. BUT keep T.O. where he is; up Jerry Jones ass!!!

SIGN T.O TO A 1-YEAR OPTION TO MORE!!
RAIDERS ARE DOWN TO THE ROOTS,CAN ONLY RISE IF NOT BARRIED.
DAVIS IS OLD, T.O IS LOUD, RUSSELL IS YOUNG.
THIS TEAM IS COMPLETELY SCREWED, FIRE WHO IS SIGNING AND GIVE TO A CHANCE SINCE THE RAIDERS ARE GIVING CHANCES TO ANYTHING THAT BREATHS!
WOULDNT BE SURPRISED IF THEY BRING OLD ASS JERRY RICE BACK EITHER!
