Jamal Anderson Arrested on Cocaine, Marijuana Charges

Jamal Anderson went from seventh-round afterthought to 1,800-yard rusher during the Falcons' 1998 Super Bowl run. He would play three more injury-plagued seasons before leaving the game to carve out a post-NFL career niche as a television analyst, most recently with ESPN's Cold Pizza 2.0.

Up 'til last night, anyway. The man who brought the "Dirty Bird" to the Falcons is currently kicking it in an Atlanta-area jail after he was arrested late Saturday on a felony possession-of-cocaine charge and possession-of-marijuana charge, a misdemeanor. Anderson was apparently denied bail, which means he could be spending the weekend in lock-up. His first hearing is set for Monday morning.

ESPN, Anderson's current employer, is "pulling an A-Rod" for the time being.
"We just learned of this situation, and it is not appropriate for us to comment until we have more information," said George McNeilly, senior director of communications at ESPN, in a statement.
I have no idea what to make of this, but if Anderson's legal team is looking for an airtight defense, there's always the pain and suffering that comes with prolonged exposure to Skip Bayless. There's a "there's not a jury in the country!" rant in there somewhere.
