A week ago, it appeared as if former NFL head coach Dan Reeves was going to be joining the Dallas Cowboys front office. As it turns out, the deal was never really completed and Reeves, after spending about two days in Dallas, isn't talking about why everything fell through. What he is talking about, however, is far more interesting in a this could blow up like the A-bomb and consume as all sort of way. Tim MacMahon of the Dallas Morning News has put together a gold mine of quotes from Reeves following his whirlwind tour of Dallas sports talk radio, all of which discuss the "tug of war" debate that is currently raging on at Valley Ranch. The topic of this debate? Why, it's Terrell Owens, of course!
Here's one of the quotes MacMahon passes along, from a Reeves appearance on something called BaD Radio on 1310 The Ticket:
"There are certainly some differences of opinion within the people within that organization. So that's gotta be something that people that are there, that work with him everyday, they've gotta make those decisions. From an outsider, I certainly have an opinion. I think the more distractions that you can eliminate and get the team focused on the team and not themselves, then you've got a better chance."I can only offer up this guess as to the two sides in this debate:
Keep Owens: Jerry Jones
Dump Owens: everybody else
This isn't the first time we've heard rumblings of Owens possibly being dumped this offseason. The Cowboys have already cut ties with one of their controversial players by releasing cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones after just one season in Dallas. The following day, the first reports of Owens possibly being next on the chopping block surfaced.
Of course, it's not hard to see why this debate is taking place in Cowboy country.
On one hand, Owens is a great wide receiver. Unfortunately, on the other hand, his ability to catch a football and score touchdowns is trumped only by his ability to be a gigantic pain in the ass.
Should the Cowboys put up with negative to reap the benefits of the positive? Personally, I'd say no. Then again, I'm not Jerry Jones.

Not to change the subject but....
Jerry needs to get a new coach
IN ORDER TO GET THE RINGS, JERRY NEEDS
TO LOOSEN THE REIGNS. SHANAHAN, COHWER
GRUDEN...HELL BOB THE HOMELESS GUY ON THE
CORNER CAN BRING MORE DISCIPLINE THAN WADE
OH BUT THATS RIGHT, HES A CHANGED MAN.
NEW STADIUM+NEW COACH= NEW LEGACY
Never wanted him to come to the Cowboys and never will be glad to have to root for him, which I've pretty much been forced to by his being on the team.
I have been a COWBOY FAN since Too Tall Jones, and the first COWBOY DRUG ADDICT HOLLYWOOD HENDERSON. It pains me so much to see the team in such disaray. PLEASE GET RID OF T.O. I beg you PLEASE. Run the ball, get a touch minded coach, OWNER, STAY OFF THE DAMM SIDELINES.
Keep Owens
if the cowboys dump t.o i hope dumbass jerry get someone who can put up the numbers t.o did.i say get rid of him i like his stats, but he is old and dont have sense to act like a leader and i wont ever forget what that punk did to our STAR.
DEADSKIN HES OLD AND SLOW.THATS SOUND LIKE THE TYPE OF PLAYER POTATOEMAN BEEN SIGNING SINCE HE BEEN IN DEADSKIN LAND GIVE US TWO CHEERLEADERS FOR T.O
I say my Cowboys need a 20 game qb. the one we have do not seem to be able to do the job all season.Wade acts like a mild mannered gent when
losing, but he is not into the flow when winning (show me you wanna win-baby)Jerry Jones need to be the Jerry of old and push the team and coach.when you win who cares.
As long as Jerry Jones owns the Cowpokes this sort of nonsense will continue. T.O. is a menace to a locker room and a team. I don't care how good of an athlete he is, and he is by the way. His ability on the field will be overshadowed by his obvious personality disorders.
Jerry Jones is a slime ball who gets off on this sort of controversial behavior. Its been going on as far back a Michael Irvin and the antics that went on when Berry Switzer was the coach. This team, with the coach and some of the players will in this rut until there are drastic changes made. Changes that will never be made until the ownership either backs off or leaves.
But thats cool with me really, to hell with Dallas! Keep doing what your doing and allowing the Pittsburgh Steelers to have one less team to worry about from the AFC.
If T.O. is this big bad guy people making him out to be then seems to me the Cowboys or anybody needs to stand up, and compete, push for a higher level of talent to get better and do better instead of complaining.
My thing is if you are not man enough to step up don't complain and campaign for support. Kick his ass bring in people who can play on that level. Young players in college able to step up to the challenge.
Don't blame T.O. for competing at a high level just step up and fight kick him in the shin put him in the dirt do something, but don't complain you look like a whimp.
That goes for coaches too.
I say we go after Anquan Bolden. He is a good receiver and is younger. T.O. is a good receiver, but has to realize no matter how slight his comments are the media and those who do not care for him will twist it to fit their cause. He just needs to shut up, get open, and catch the damn ball! I love T.O. as long as he is quiet.
We get rid of TO we will not only miss the playoffs we will have a losing record...plain and simple the media has convinced everyone he is the problem...The media is a story driven outlet people...Half of what you hear in the news is embellished to make a story, just an insider telling it like it is on the media.
