Kurt Warner Won't Be Signing Elsewhere

Kurt Warner possesses many personality traits and does many things that the general public likes to refer to as refreshing. After his recent comments from the Cardinals locker room, you can add "not leveraging his current team for more money" to the list.

On the open market, Warner would most certainly attract enough interest to jack up the price the Cardinals would have to pay him in order to retain his services. Instead, though, Warner is seemingly content to just accept what the Cards want to give him. Otherwise, it would be foolish of him to proclaim he's not interested in any other team.
(Warner) did say on Tuesday he wants to finish his career with the Cardinals.

"That's my mindset," he said. "If I'm going to keep playing, I don't want to change teams."
So there you have it. I'm surprised he's considering retirement after the incredible past season he had, but he likely has plenty of money and would rather spend more time at home with Benjamin Button his wife and seven kids. The feeling around the locker room, though, is that he'll be back next season and possibly the one after that. It seems like he has at least one year left, as he'll be 38 next season.

In the meantime, the Cardinals will keep waiting on Warner's retirement decision before moving on to any other free agents. It's safe to say he's their top priority, and that's probably the right move, considering Matt Leinart doesn't inspire a ton of confidence at this point. That means their other free agents, like Bertrand Berry, will have to wait.
