Tampa Bay Hires Jeff Jagodzinski as Offensive Coordinator

As the Buccaneers continue to assemble their coaching staff, the team has announced the hiring of Jeff Jagodzinski as offensive coordinator. If you'll recall, Jagodzinski was the head coach for Boston College the past two seasons until he was fired for interviewing for the same job with the New York Jets. He didn't get the job, was fired from Boston College, and began interviewing for other jobs around the NFL -- including with San Francisco for its offensive coordinator position.

Jagodzinski, 45, has eight years of experience as an assistant coach in the NFL, including one year as offensive coordinator with the Green Bay Packers in 2006.

During his lone year in Green Bay, the Packers offense improved from 18th in the NFL to ninth.

Prior to his offensive coordinator position with the Packers, he spent the 2004 and 2005 seasons in Atlanta as its offensive line coach, while also working five seasons as Green Bay's tight end coach from 1999-2003.

He takes over a Buccaneers offensive unit that finished the 2008 season 14th in total yards, 15th in rushing, and 11th in passing.
