On Monday, Sports Illustrated's Peter King wrote that "You're kidding yourself if you think [Brett Favre's] going to move back to New Jersey for 12 to 16 weeks in March. 'I've never been in a [full] offseason program,' Favre told me a month ago..." This was in response to Jets owner Woody Johnson, who during a radio appearance last week, offered this: "If [Favre] wants to play and he comes in early, which he will, and goes through the training like everybody else, we'll ... (Brian) Schottenheimer will give him a playbook and he'll have a lot more time to prepare."
As the New York Daily News' Rich Cimini points out, that's hardly Johnson giving Favre an ultimatum. "Would Johnson like Favre to show up before August? Yeah, sure. But there was no 'or else' consequences, primarily because it's January."
There's plenty of time work out the details. In the meantime, Cimini raises another important issue:
This could be [Rex] Ryan's first real challenge as a coach. What if Favre tells him, "I'll come back on one condition: No off-season program for me." Then, what? The players, led by Kerry Rhodes, made it clear at the end of the season that they'd accept Favre back but only if he worked out with them in the offseason.Well, Kerry Rhodes might not get his wish. NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that Favre will meet with Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum as early as next week to decide his professional future. And I suspect if Favre announces his retirement, he'll actually stay retired. Unless, of course, the Vikings can find a way to bring him to Minnesota.

Being a Jets fan was rough last year to say the least. Pennington gets unceremoniously dumped in place of the sure fire hall-of-famer and turns the Dolphins into a worst to first playoff team. Favre shows flashes of his old self, then goes through an ugly collapse and takes his team from first to third at the most crucial time of the season. The players don't want him back, the prima dona routine is old, fans are already fed up, and the Jets are still without a quality starter if he returns or not. Brett, please retire already and cut the crap, the drama is old and the longer you play your stupid games the less time the Jets have to replace you with any quality before the season starts. For once in your career consider the good of someone besides yourself first.

Get your stories right idiot. Woody was on the radio and said he never said such a thing about Brett. He said, "IN A PERFECT WORLD" Brett would come back, but he never said Brett has to come for the full off-season program. He said the entire thing was taken out of context by the media, as usual. You guys need something to write about. Can't you just find real stores instead of trying to make them up just to to get a story (RIGHT OR WRONG)
Woody said that in 16 years, Brett has never came to the off season program and Woody is not demanding him to come this year.
What you wrote is a total lie and I would expect more from you writers to get your stories right before you print them.
DA!!!!!

Another thing, Brett is one of the best QB's in football and still is. Give him a good wide receiver and a better offensive line and maybe he could have done a better job.
PS. He also only had 2 weeks to learn the system.
How can you fans blame Brett for all the losses?
Really, think about it.
Pennington for the last time, stunk as a Jet.
He can not play in cold weather and he never had a strong arm. Thank god Miami got some good players this year or he probably would have maybe won 1 game. He was never any good and New York and you Pennington fans better get that thru your heads.
PS. Didn't the Giants and Eli teach you anything about having a wide receiver to throw to and how it changes the game? DA!!!!!

foxy must have slept through the final 5 games of the jets season.Let me cluee you in ,it doesn't matter who favre has for recievers. He throws to the opponents more accuratly than he does to his own recievers .The man is finished and has been for the last two seasons. The jets losses at the end of this year lie solely on his poor decisions with the ball.Same as last season with the packers .Do you actually watch the games ? Green bay knew he was finished and so does anyone with half a clue .Brett Favre = the most OVER RATED QB to ever play the game !He's a defensive backs dream ! Can't wait too see him cry like a little baby > AGAIN !

If you guys hate reading about Favre then why do you do it? Favre might have given up on the last season with the jets, but he did not have a horrible season with packers in 2008. He took his team to the NFC Championship at home and had one of the best seasons of his career. Favre throughs interceptions, its nothing new jyankeehater1. In fact he's been throughing tons of interceptions his whole career. Thats what makes him fun to watch.

The one who hasn't been watching, jyankeehater1, is you. If Favre was so bad last year, why did he have the 5th best passing completion percentage, 9th most TD's, and 11th most total yards? Yet, his two starting wide receivers, Coles and Cotchery, both had less than 900 yards each. They were 30th and 31st overall in total reception yards. The problem is they can't catch. They drop balls. In fact, many of Favre's interceptions were because the ball went through the receiver's hands to the opponent!
