Last Friday, Drew Rosenhaus announced that the Cowboys wouldn't release his client, mercurial wide receiver Terrell Owens. Six days later, he still feels that way (he recently told a Miami radio station that T.O. is "not going anywhere"), and, frankly, he'd appreciate it if you'd quick asking about it.
And if Rosenhaus isn't talking -- which is akin to Pacman Jones going to a strip club and not making it rain -- then I suppose it makes sense to hit up Cowboys owner Jerry Jones for his thoughts on the matter.
When ... Jones arrived in Mobile on Monday he surprisingly said he would not answers questions about Owens. The Cowboys' off-season changes could involve releasing the controversial receiver, who is due a $3.1 million roster bonus June 3.Huh. Who knows how this plays out, but Jones' comments on Monday indirectly suggest that Owens might not be in the team's long-range plans. Hardly breaking news -- T.O. is 35, after all -- but it still merits a mention. In talking about Roy Williams, acquired during the season for a first- and third-round pick, Jones offered this:
"We are very pleased to have Roy Williams ... We saw an opportunity to get a player that can be our No. 1 receiver. ... As I look to the future, Roy will be our X receiver as I look down the road. He's at that stage in his career."T.O.'s current position: X receiver. Again, I don't think this is Jones' sly way of sending Rosenhaus and Owens a message; if anything, he's preparing for a future without TO, whether that's in '09 or beyond. And when he indicates that Williams "has a lot of work to do this offseason," and "that'll help him stay on the field," it says more about what he expects from the guy that cost him two high-round picks than "I Love Me Some Me."
Thankfully, the Cowboys are in great shape heading into the offseason.
And in case you're wondering (because you are), here's the official photo caption for the above image: "PARK CITY, UT - JANUARY 17: NFL player Terrell Owens (C) attends the 'AXE Fix Club' held during the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and celebrating the new line of AXE body washes and sprays on January 17, 2009 in Park City, Utah."

They'd better keep TO....Jerry knows what's up!!TO maybe an outspoken realist that doesn't know when and when not to voice an opinion, (ok, you're right..not knowing when and when not to shut up) which disturbs the sensitive media, owners, coaches and teammates, but he is one of THE more talented on ANY roster...But, he can't help if Romo is a love struck choking joke in the post season!!
