When it was announced that Bills left tackle Jason Peters made the Pro Bowl despite a season that could only be described as incredibly disappointing, it was yet again a sign that Pro Bowl voting is still not what it needs to be.So when Peters announced yesterday that he was skipping the game because of a knee injury, there was some justice in his announcement. But when the NFL got around to naming his replacement, it once again dropped the ball.
Miami rookie Jake Long was named to the team as Peters' fill-in. He had a very solid rookie season, and was a much better pick than Peters. According to Stats Inc., he allowed only 2.5 sacks this year (way better than Peters' 10.5 sacks allowed). But by picking Long, Broncos left tackle Ryan Clady was still left off despite an outstanding debut, where he was almost unbeatable.
By Stats' figures, Clady allowed a half-sack all season. He also showed that he was able to block at the point of attack in the run game, or head downfield to block linebackers and defensive backs. Clady was named as the second team All-Pro tackle, which means that someone is noticing his work, but the Pro Bowl will have to wait until his second year to be named to the first team. As a consolation, like Brett Favre and Peters, Clady will probably make several Pro Bowls at the end of his career when he no longer deserves to make them.

The Pro Bowl should be abolished, for these reasons:
1. Very few people actually watch it.
2. It's 25% numbers and 75% popularity and reputation.
3. It doesn't count for anything, not even who gets to be the 'home' team in the Super Bowl.
4. The players never play at a level that proves why they would deserve to be there.

Pretty sure miami made the playoffs and im pretty sure Denver didn't. We all know if your on a good team your much more likely to make the pro-bowl. Clady is good, but so is like 5 other 1-2 year off tackles. So i wouldnt say anyone dropped the ball.

Clady is simply the best young tackle in pro-football. He deserved first team status.
