Bill Parcells on His Future With Miami: 'What Does it Look Like I'm Doing?'

With Tuesday's sale of the Miami Dolphins to Stephen Ross, giving him control of 95 percent of the franchise, team vice president Bill Parcells now has a 30-day window to cash in the remainder of his $16 million contract and bolt to another team (or the nearest beach and/or golf course). That is, if he wants to.

Parcells is spending this week, along with Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano and general manager Jeff Ireland, at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, scouting the NFL's stars of tomorrow. On Tuesday afternoon he addressed the window of opportunity he has to exit Miami with a truck full of cash.

From Jeff Darlington of the Miami Herald:
''What does it look like I'm doing?'' said Parcells, who was wearing a Dolphins jacket shortly after finishing another day of scouting at the Senior Bowl with coach Tony Sparano and general manager Jeff Ireland. ``What do your eyes tell you?''
Nice.

Parcells also went on to say that money would not play a factor in his decision because, as he puts it, "I've got more money than I can spend.''

Wayne Huizenga has already said he expects Parcells to stay in Miami, while Ireland admitted he would be "shocked" if Parcells left. Despite that, Tuna would not come out and say for certain he was staying, and offered up a "we'll see what happens" quote.

While it would be nice to think it really isn't about the money, and Parcells will stay in Miami and continue to oversee the turnaround the Dolphins have experienced in the past year, that's an awfully large $12 million carrot dangling in front of his nose. And he would probably have half of the league lining up to offer him a job in some capacity should he become available.

We'll see what happens.
