The Inspector General of the Department of Justice says that the United States Marshals Service used federal vehicles and on-duty agents to give rides to FOX broadcasters Joe Buck and Troy Aikman at last year's Super Bowl. The Smoking Gun has the full report, which also says the U.S. Marshals inappropriately gave rides to Buck and Tim McCarver at the World Series. The Department of Justice investigation centered on a lawyer for the Marshals Service, Joseph Band, who also worked as a FOX Sports statistician.
A Fox spokesman gave the New York Times the following statement:
"At select events, he did offer transportation to some Fox Sports personnel. We were unaware, however, that those arrangements were in any way inappropriate, and regret to learn now that they apparently were."It's surprising that FOX wouldn't be aware that it's inappropriate for federal vehicles and on-duty agents to be giving rides to sportscasters. While no one is accusing Buck, Aikman or McCarver of breaking any laws, they should have known better. It would be nice if Buck and Aikman offered an apology on the air before Sunday's NFC Championship Game.

Joe Buck is a good sportcaster but a pri-k in person just like his old man Jack. Joe a classic example of a guy who thinks his crap doesn't stink. I live in St. louis for 10 long misable years and heard all kind of stories about how the Bucks thought they were better than anyone. And Jack is old man was a nasty person,so this entitlement doesn't surprize me.McCarver is a a-shole too.

This doesn't bother me. The Marshalls are still doing their job they are going to the same place the more security at the Super bowl the better.
Sometimes you extend courtesies to fellow humans (celebrities). Car pooling isn't a bad thing. Yea, I'm scratching here but this isn't serious government waste. If your going to offer me a ride and I feel secure I'm taking it.

Hmmm... which is more appopropiate, using taxpayers to pay for a ride to a football or baseball game, or a guy picking up a telephone on the sideline and pretending he is making a phone call? Because according to Buck and Aikman, picking up a telephone on the sideline is totally classless and the worst thing to happen since Randy Moss pretended he was mooning the crowd.
Joe Buck is the worst announcer in sports. I would love to see a different network cover baseball so I do not have to hear he call as many games. The NLCS and World Series were painful. I support any bad news that comes his way. He loves to kick people when they are down with his little holier than thou voice. Karma.

Big deal. We have more to worry about than who the Feds gave a lift to. Of course Media Watch would pick up on this. Look who their backers are.

This is in the minutiae of regulations. Police officers give ride-alongs in the interest of goodwill toward law enforcement and important people have police escorts or special security all the time. If this broke a rule, then the Marshals will answer for it, but I wouldn't expect Buck and Aikman to know it was taboo.
If, on the other hand, someone wants to investigate them for airtime wasted with pompous buffoonery (really wanted to use that word), stupid comments and ridiculous celebrity guests I'm all for it.

Just confirms that for the last 8 years, as everyone knows, Fox has been the BNN. The Bush News Network. Fair and balanced are meaningless words when FOX shows us their true belief with 8 years of action slurping the White House and Republicans.
