Donovan McNabb Answers the Call Sunday, Literally and Figuratively

Donovan McNabb is a curiously odd fellow. However, he should probably remember to not do anything that involves fun when Joe Buck is calling his games. Buck and Troy Aikman gave McNabb some guff for picking up a phone by the Giants sideline during today's game and really, while he drew a flag, who cares? The game was over and Donovan was just doing something that made him smile. Unlike sitting behind Kevin Kolb.

Again, it's really not that big a deal; Buck just thinks that everyone should play the way he announces -- with zero emotion.

As an Eagles fan, I wasn't thrilled with the prank since it cost us yardage when the game wasn't totally in the bag, but since it upset Buck and Aikman, who I think are the worst commentators in the business, I guess it was worth the penalty. When oh when is Fox going to hire someone else to commentate and put us out of our misery??

Joe Buck needs to stick to calling baseball. McNabb's joke was ill-timed - even he admits it. Any die-hard Eagles fan knows it's not over until the final gun and no lead is ever enough to make you relax. Go Birds!

As an Eagles fan, I can reply to the comment to us Eagles fans about kissing McNabb's butt: You are so right. Every time the Eagles hit a rough patch, I get to listen to the locals make McNabb and Reid sound like the worst combo in history. This is their fifth NFC game in ten years. If that's the Philly definition of suck, gimme more guys who suck like that...

McNabb had very little to do with this game. The Giants shut him and Westbrook down. The Giants beat themselves in the first three quaters which they dominated yards wise; Eli sucked and they could not get it in from the Red Zone. McNabb will be choking again before these playoffs are over. LOL....

yea eli sucking had nothing to do with the eagles defense, or the wind which affected both quarterbacks,....go watch mens figure skating, it sounds like it would suit you just fine....you don't have a clue about football,....

McNabb had very "little" to do with the win.
If Converting two key third down plays against a great defense, one for 3rd and 20, is "little", if throwing a perfect play action pass to Celek in the corner of the end zone to make it a two-score lead is "little"; if sneaking over the goal line for the Eagles first touchdown is "little"; if scrambling in and out of the pocket over and over again avoiding a sack for the 2nd str8 game from a team that sacked quarterbacks 42 times in 14 games otherwise is "little", then okay, I'll agree with you.

But remember when you are watching the Eagles in the NFC title game (and not the Giants), it's the "little" things that make a difference and the "little brother" Manning is not going back to the NFC title game or the Big Dance, because he had "little" to show in the way of poise and skill in a difficult situation.

Just a "little" something to think about...

I am an eagles fan stuck in giantsville, forced to listen to New York media and fans. As far as Troy Aikman he hates the eagles so I don't really listen to him. The problem with the giants is the coach he is always crying at the referees and it runs over to the team instead of playing the game they constintly cry for pentelties if things aren't go the way thay want it to. Last year when he was told to stop complaining and he did. The players responded by playing instead of complaining and won the Super Bowl. The giants are a quality team with really good players but they take on the traits of their coach and they complain instead of playing the quality football they are capable of playing. Also Lets Go Eagles.

R - Just something to think about. The Giants have 3 Super Bowl rings; how many do the Eagles have? As for McNab; he made one good play. His scramble and throw from his on 10 yard line on a 3rd and 20. The Giants do not fear McNabs arm; that is why they did not sack him. They pressured him often and took the Eagles best player "Westbrook" out of the game. Be Honest; Eli blew it.

McNab is over rated and will choke before the playoffs are over.

I can just imagine how all of you would be reacting if TO was the guy who did the telephone thing. McNabb has portrayed some classless acts in the last couple of games. I don't find his tactics any different then TOs, in fact worse. As far as Buck, Aikman and Fox, I don't think they really give a damn what you think...the rest of the country likes them. They are honest in their assessments...I guess the truth hurts!

First you blamed a loss on Jacobs being out....now what. Burress? Can't play unless they are there (da!!!!!!!)

How about getting over it and playing the game like the rest of the NFL does---- w/o your stars?
