Notes from the press box at Bank of America Stadium for Panthers - Cardinals.
Darnell Dockett's had a pretty pricey week; you most likely recall the $20,000 fine the NFL stuck him with after his celebratory actions against the Atlanta Falcons. Surely, he would come into this Panthers game a with a little more humility this week, right?
Um, wrong. Dockett not only decided the post-game presser was a perfect time to call out Warren Sapp (as well as everyone at FanHouse except Shane Bacon, technically), but he also decided to "give Carolina all the credit" for the Cardinals win today.
He was being sarcastic.
[Carolina] had big holes in the running game. Their running backs were just running in the wrong holes. Their quarterback was throwing to the wrong guys that were open. We just showed up, that's all we did was show up.As you can see, he was pulling a Richard and "laying it on pretty thick." But there was nothing minced or subtle about his message to the media members that picked against the Cardinals, Sapp specifically:
Shout out to Warren Sapp for picking us to lose and everyone else in the whole organization and the media. I watched the news this morning and everyone was picking us to lose. Again we just showed up and let the running back run all over top of us. That's good. They have exit physicals tomorrow and we get on a plane and enjoy the weekend.Um, no, he was still being sarcastic. Go figure. I would imagine that Sapp will have a hearty laugh in Dockett's direction as he apologizes and then proceeds to pick against the Cardinals again next week.
As for the rest of us, well, yeah, Dockett's kind of right -- no one gave the Cards a chance and that, in hindsight, seems pretty dumb. Because, sure enough, they showed up. The Panthers just forgot to.

You said it yourself Mario, "should have won" could have won, would have won. Panthers lost as a team. Cards defense held them and made them look like a bunch of high school football players. Give the Cards the credit they deserve! GO CARDINALS!!

And here you are, again, Mario ~ making idiotic comments. Have you ever played football, or even spent much time WATCHING the sport? Football is a TEAM sport! How about not just pointing fingers of BLAME (at Delhomme), but instead, giving some CREDIT to the Cardinals' defense??? Read their numbers, dude!

Darnell is a huge force up the middle he has played strong since i was there in high school he talks but always backs it up and always comes up strong and makes the big play. good luck next week

Where in the hell did this Mario idiot come from? Somebody needs to be held accountable for letting assholes like him spill over from the Marth Stewart Show. Most of the time I dont acknowledge people like him but we could all have fun at his expense all year long. Only thing is we have to keep in mind what our parents taught us,"It's not polite to make fun of people like him" and "There but by the grace of God go our selves." But then again this one is just an easy mark. Too hard not to react to such an ass as him!
