Notes from the press box at Bank of America Stadium for Panthers - Cardinals.Five plays. Fifty yards. Three-oh-four on the clock. Those are the stats for Carolina's first drive tonight and they're telling because the Arizona Cardinals don't exactly look fresh right now.
After holding the Cats to a quick long-and-third, the Buzzsaw coughed up a 10-yard gain to Brad Hoover. That was immediately followed by a 31-yard DeAngelo Williams rip that appeared housebound. Jonathan Stewart then played the mop-up duty roll, walking untouched into the end zone from nine yards out.
A Larry Fitzgerald long reception on third down brought the Cardinals within scoring range of their own, but then Kurt Warner proceeded to get his face driven into the ground and one play later the birds were out of field goal range.
None of that is to say that the Cardinals are already done or even all that overmatched, but that's the general feeling you get in this place right now. And, until Arizona can play well on the East coast, it's kind of tough to give them the benefit of the doubt.

But lord what have the Panthers done since that first touchdown? I actually just turned off my TV. I'm giving it 30 minutes in hopes that they can turn it around. I love my Panthers, but they're panicking.
Dude, you have major stones with such post this early in the game. I, on the other hand, prefer to watch Jake Delhomme warm the Cardinals up and then make a "Not so fast my friend" statement with the Cardinals up by a score with the ball.
Your comments were absolutely correct, but you'd be about as premature trying to call the NYG/Philly game in the next 15 min.
Hey, I'm just writing what I see from the press box. Cards looked flat. Obviously that's not the case right now.
Totally, I understand. But it was like finding an article titled "Real Estate Only Goes Up!" from 2004.
Boy you look dumb now. But who can predict this stuff?
This post is hilarious now.
hahaha I seriously can't help but crack up after reading this post. I understand though, it's the Cards. right? ..they can't possibly win in the East Coast against a Panther team that's undefeated at home! All these criticisms only fuel the Card's motivations to reach the Super Bowl. Congratulations to them, and to you Mr. Brinson, for sounding like a complete douche for your premature prediction.
oh wise and wonderful prognosticator would you be picking Sarah Palin for vp about now as well - or perhaps you have an investment tip - perhaps Madoff & co.? best wait next time before you sound the death nell - as someone once said - perhaps it tolls for thee - I fear your crystal ball has gone dim as has your wit - ah well there's always next year hehehe
