Notes from the press box at Bank of America Stadium for Panthers - Cardinals.
Larry Fitzgerald averaged 89.4 yards over the course of the regular season. Roy Green previously set the Arizona Cardinals playoff receiving yards record on Jan. 8, 1983, with 113 yards against Green Bay. These two facts are important because, with 5:30 to go in the first half against the Panthers, Fitz has already set a new franchise record, tallying 151 total receiving yards and a touchdown.
The Panthers are now down 20 points (27-7) after coming out white hot. This is a direct result of two things: Jake Delhomme continues to stink the joint up like no Panthers quarterback since David Carr, and the Panthers seem entirely content with not bothering to cover Fitzy.
While the guy is a fantastic receiver and an absolutely destructive threat, the Cats' coverage of the wideout has been nothing short of embarrassing -- he's been open every time Kurt Warner's looked his way.
And the only thing that might be worse is this very simple and very awkward fact: Edgerrin James has more rushing attempts than DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart combined. Yikes.

Is it really that hard to understand if Bouldin is out, cover Fitzgerald more, not leave him open? I guess Carolina liked the off week so much, they are trying for more.

You're right Orange Chuck. The panthers should have run the ball first of all. But on defense, they should have doubled Fitzgerald, pressured Warner, and made the Cards beat them with Breaston. The Cards maybe still would have won in that situation, but they wouldn't have scored 30+ unanswered points

yes, they should have brought in a cold qb who didn't take one snap this season and practices with the second team, that would have brought them back for sure!

In all my years I have never seen a Team give up their game plans ( The same one that got them to the playoffs) so fast.
I'am a PSL owner and a die hard Panther fan, and I have been behind Jake(Delhomme) and John (Fox) but..... I feel that the Panthers are as far as they will ever go with John Fox. And I feel it is also time to look for Jake Delhomme's replacement. I feel that with this team we should have gone further. We need a coach with a Killer instinct. The team has gotten strfonger and the team weaker.
