In his first broadcast interview since he was released by the Dallas Cowboys, Adam "Pacman" Jones told James Brown of CBS that he was not involved in a June 2007 shooting outside a strip club, and he's confident he'll get back into the NFL.Asked by Brown whether the allegations that he was behind the shooting were true, Jones was adamant that they're not.
"No, they're not true at all," Jones said. "I told the authorities everything that happened. There's no truth to none of the stories, really."
At that, Jones' lawyer, Robert Langford, interrupted and said he couldn't give any more information at the request of law enforcement officials, but that Jones had cooperated fully with the investigation.
Brown noted that Jones, who has missed 22 of 32 games in the last two seasons because of NFL suspensions, always seems to get in trouble in and around strip clubs, and he asked "What is it about strip clubs that you can't stay away?"
Jones answered, "Strip clubs are like regular clubs, but you know, I haven't been in a strip club in, what, two years now, a year and a half, three years, whatever it is."
And although many people think Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was the last person left in the NFL who was willing to give Pacman a chance, Pacman said he believes he's still got an NFL career ahead of him.
"I had a great time in Dallas. I love the fans in Dallas. I thank Jerry for all he's done for me," Pacman said. "Hopefully I get a job somewhere. ... I think I'll play this game again in the NFL. I've got a very good chance of playing again."

JB asked multiple times if he was reformed and the reply was "I think so." And throughout the interview not one time did he say he was sorry for anything he did and it would never happen again.
"I went to AA for 2 months and now I go every other week. I think that I'm doing something." He barely showed an ounce of remorse. "I had an alcohol problem and I did what I needed to fix it."
Once you have a problem you ALWAYS have a problem. I speak from my own experience on that.
His attorney should have at least coached him. He should be on a butt kissing mission and he is not. He doesn't deserve another shot. He didn't learn a damn thing.
What he should've said was "I made some major mistakes and I have done and will continue to do my pennance. I am truly sorry for what I have done and I will do my best every day to make sure that nothing like this ever happens again."
At least ACT like you're sorry. Douche.

I agree. The guy should act at least a little contrite considering all the trouble he has caused for himself , others, and especially his teammates. A little remorse and humility goes a long way. Maybe Jerry is serious about changing the Cowboys image, and more practically, the team's chemistry. If so, then maybe TO will be the next to go.Us Cowboy fans would like to see the team enter a new direction and start to become Super Bowl contenders again.

Cowboys need 2 let T.O. go and Romo on Wade's back! Jones may have money but I could make better decisions than him! And he needs to step down as G.M. and sit back and b an owner only.

I'm sure the Bengals are quite interested. They haven't had an arrest since the regular season ended.

That's the first thing he said that I actually believe.

If I was related to Pac-Man, I would have told him, "Look bro. I don't think it's a good idea for you to go on national tv for an interview." He looked really ignorant, and nearly inarticulate. As has been said, you don't "fix" an alcohol problem over a few months and with a few meetings. It was embarrasing to see his attorney having to break in to keep Pac-Man from saying anything even more dumb or incriminating. At some point, folks have to start asking the parent(s) of many of these players what they're doing. I have a son who was a star football player in high school. I remember constantly working to make sure he didn't take his own press clippings too seriously, and didn't develop a mentality where he wasn't accountable to anyone. Of coure, I wasn't looking for him to get rich through the NFL so he could take care of me. Pac-Man Jones, Nate Newton, Plaxico, both Vick brothers, O.J., Iron Mike Tyson, Jayson Williams, Charles Barkley, Lawrence Phillips, Brian Blades, Maurice Claurett (sp), ...etc. There are so many, it's getting ridiculous. Then there are those like T.O. and Ocho Cinco who, although they haven't necessarily broken the law, you have to wonder what is going on in their heads. I know the majority of athletes are taking care of their business, but there are far too many doing stupid things with a distorted value system. Unlike some, I don't want to sit back and make fun of these guys. It is really disturbing to see how so many end up wasting so much potential. These are dudes who, unlike many who end up in jail, often have millions of dollars and attended college (not that anyone expected much of them in school). I long for the days of Muhammed Ali, Arthur Ashe, Hank Aaron, Jim Brown, Tommy Smith & John Carlos, and those who had a social and political conscious.

the thing that gets me, and i have been a fan for 43 years, is why does j.jones hire all these troubled players. i knew this deal with the pacman would not work, he enjoys the troubled side of life to much. there are a few more that need to go. and you have got to remember, the coach is not "bum" his name is wade. i hope the cowboys can go a new direction. but i dont see it till all the thugs are gone, and some one puts a leash on jj.

Just shows you blacks will never change. After recieving a free education and playing in the best league in the world, they still pack guns and act like monkey's. They always run around and cry we are from the streets and we have to protect ourselves. Quit feeling sorry for yourself!!! I'm 240 pound white mail that lived and lives in rual areas like Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Dayton Ohio. And not once did I ever picked up a gun or any dumb shit like that. Plus I only make 22,000 a year and I will always be twice the man a plaq-man. I would love to have 5 minutes in a locked room with this ignorant idiot. Romo, shape up too...it's a broken finger...I played with broken ribs in high school just for the opportunity to play...not money!!!
