Notes from the press box at Bank of America Stadium for Panthers - Cardinals.Jake Delhomme hasn't had that fantastic a season, at least in the second half of the year, so expecting him to totally dominant the Cardinals tonight would have been just a flat-out mistake. But at the very least, you would think that the term "halftime adjustment" might mean something to the Panthers' coaching staff.
Apparently it didn't, because on second and 16, after Kurt Warner gave the Panthers a free red zone opportunity, Delhomme again forced a pass into tight coverage that got double-tipped and resulted in his third interception (fourth turnover) of the evening, as well as a 41-yard interception return that set up a Neil Rackers field goal and set the score at 30-7.
Delhomme just overthrew his receiver on fourth and five at the 40 in a fashion that could best be described as "embarrassing," and a good number of Panthers fans -- at least the ones not leaving the stadium -- started booing him. Or perhaps booing the coaching staff. Both have been completely ineffective tonight.
Bonus: Matthew Stafford can't fall far enough to land in Carolina at the draft.

This the first game this season during which the announcers should be comparing someone to Brett Favre. Too bad Kornheiser is on the wrong network.
I feel bad for the guy, I like him. Bad things like this should only happen to the Cowboys.

Really, the Panthers should have been preparing for life without Delhomme from a couple of years ago. He's past his prime, he's been hurt often in the last couple of years, and he's had the tendency to choke a couple of times when the Panthers reach the playoffs. He's obviously got some mental demons that he's unable to shake, and because of that, the Panthers should move in a different direction.

Yeah, Arizona's millionaires beat Carolina's millionaires. Jake is a jock and all jock's have a limited shelf life. I was at the game and saw every sloppy play. Our defense secondary was watching Kurt Warner work; our offensive line seemed asleep; our offensive strategy must have been phoned in by Dan Henning. A couple of shots of the Big Cat himself, Jerry Richardson, seriously ill, wasn't enough to inspire the Panthers. When a game is played that poorly, there's always lots of blame to go around. Just remember that the Panthers are the NFC South Champions and build on it and yes, the draft and trades John Fox can work should include a young quarterback; also a young field goal kicker and dump some of the Top Cats, make up isn't hiding all the wrinkles, ladies.

Go easy on the QB, he had a bad day...as the song goes...So did Romo...they both end up in the scraps of QB's, so what happens next year is anybodys guess....Mine is, Romo stays with the lowly CB"s, as Jerry is too headstrong to change and Carolina has another decision to make...I say call Brett Favre, whether it be Carolina or the Cowboys...BFD

so delhomme had a really bad game
hes not always like that, but we do need another quarterback to replace him in the future so we might as well start picking so that person can get better for the time to come. Josh mcCown is garbage. we need to let him go and keep matt moore. get a good left tackle in the draft and maybe a better full back. brad hoover is all right but not the best. screw off lucas and diggs. get 2 great Defensive Backs. A Better line backer and someone to replace julius since he will most likely leave. our offensive coordinater needs to get fired and we need someone to have sense when running the ball so we wont run it to the left side every time and get -3 yards. we need a smart guy to help the offense so we arent throwing the ball 5 drives in a row after we have a sucessful run game when we played Arizona. We woulld have done better but we didnt call any of the right plays. we might also even think about loosing john fox if we get a need offensive coordinater who is good and still dont make it past one playoff spot. we need someone to run this team and use all of its talent. by calling stupid plays and playing prevent defense after the first stop will get us no where.
