When it comes to Tim Tebow, the sports media is just a wee bit prone to overstatement. On the one hand you have the Fox announcers embarrassing themselves last night with their excessive gushing. And on the other hand, you have certain draft "experts" going ridiculously over the top in diminishing Tebow's skills as a quarterback.
ESPN's Mike Greenberg perfectly encapsulated both of those media tendencies today on Mike and Mike in the Morning.
"He could be the president of the United States some day," Greenberg said. "And he has a better chance of that than he does being an NFL quarterback. ... It's just true. ... I can't believe anyone who doesn't think that."
I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with Greenberg there: Of the two jobs, I think Tebow is more likely to become NFL quarterback than United States president.
I'm not particularly high on Tebow's prospects as a pro quarterback, but there's at least a 50-50 chance that he'll improve as a passer, work on his slow delivery, adjust to a pro-style offense and play quarterback in the NFL at some point. I would place Tebow's chances of occupying the Oval Office at a little below 50%. I can't believe that Greenberg can't believe that everyone doesn't think that.

Tebow brings another game to football. He is not in the mold of the traditional QB. He changes the game entirely. The New England brass are big fans of him and they will fight to get him. Bill Russell changed the NBA. Tebow will change the NFL as well. Short sited NFL people cannot see it. New England does. The running power and the jump pass in the red zone will play well in the pros. He will add at least a 20% improvement to any team in the red zone.

I admit I was somewhat uncomfortable when the color guy referred to Tebow as "a gentle, giving lover."

enough with this jesus freak.
Tebow didn't win the game.
OU's Offense lost it. they should have had 21 in the first 5 drives.
And besides, matt millen knows more about NFL talent than that hack greenberg. And millen knows nothing.

A JESUS FREAK IS A LOT BETTER THAN A DEVIL FREAK.
YES OU COULD HAVE HAD 21 POINTS, IF THE FLORIDA DEFENSE HADN'T BEEN ON THE FIELD.

He can become president even though he was not born in the USA.
Naturalization Act of 1790 says that "the children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond the sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born citizens."

I didn't realize he wasn't born in the U.S., so I guess he can't be president. Still, I could totally see Republicans going crazy for this guy if he wanted to go into Politics. He's like a younger, male Sarah Palin...except he's been successful at something.

All last year and even more this year, it's all about Timmy Tebow...well I for one, don't gave a dam about him....he was a one man show last year and still try's to be that way, not as much this year. They played the so called "hurt" routine about Harvin....now you tell me, was he hurt or not??? If so, coach as more of an ass then I thought. OU should have scored and the game would not have been the same outcome....just the way the ball bounces....Hope Timmy goes pro, so we can hear the last of him......my team will be back.......Go Bucks. and we will say Florida who???

You cant coach the leadership he has. He is more of a field general than a QB. His passing is not that of an NFL QB but I believe if coached right he will bring winning seasons to the team that obtains him. As far as a Football player you dont see many of this calibur. He is not affraid to tell people what to do and also gaining the respect of teamates because they believe he has the attitude to take them to great altitudes

As far as Oklahoma sorry you dont have the Offense to beat that Flordia defense. Bradford is good but for those who believe he will be great in the NFL need to reevaluate what they are looking at, as far as system and complexity of the Offense he is in. I never gave OU the chance to win this game because Flordia has more talent and great leaders. Sorry OU you just never win the big games. And Flordia doesnt care they are going to win because they know they are and the coach knows it without a touch of fear. OU coach is not a Big Bowl game coach because I believe he doubts his tem and ability.

I think Tebow can become an NFL starting QB. I don't see him as a stellar gun slinger, but more of a mobile game manager. Think of David Garrard with more speed and can take a hit.

I'd almost pick Ryan Leaf over Tebow. His best play is when he jogs out of the pocket. That won't fly in the NFL,and with people such as Troy Pol(fill in the rest), ray lewis, James Harrison, and Jared (i'll attempt to end your career) Allen there to smack you I don't see a option two for him.
I mean they still looked like the same Florida team that needed a bad call to shift the momentum on a YOUNG miami team.
Oklahoma squandered there chance in the big dance.Kind of sad when cases can be made against both teams that they didn't belong there.
I'm attempting to think of anyone in the past 10 years who's actually done something in the NFL that came out of Florida....I'm drawing a blank...

what i think greeny may have been trying to do was actually praise hime for all of his good works, you know all of those things fox was gushing over, and just contribute to the thought that tebow can save the word.
If I'm wrong and he was trying to diminish his QB skills than he needs to lighten up. tebows probably the best college footballer EVER. he WILL get a CHANCE to play QB in the NFL. now, he may not live up to his college legacy, he probably wont, he may not find any success at all at the QB position, which there is a strong chance that will happen. Only AFTER THAT HAPPENS do you try to change his position because he is a playmaker and he needs to be on the field.
he may not have all of the tools or look like an NFL QB but some one will give him a chance because if he comes through to the fullest, the league will never be the same

no can't be the prez. art 2 of the constitution sets the rules not any Naturalization Act....... it would take a constitutional amendment to change the requirements in article 11..
Tebow knows that ....... so Ken how come you don't.
Tebow is someone who any NFL team should make a run at. and yes, he should be given the shot a QB....... there is just no reason to think that he would not bring it up a notch and be a great QB at that level. It will depend greatly on coaching and team mate support...
congrats to the gators... sorry OU but great team anyway

Shoot he has a good chance of being President. The American people do not care about qualification when voting for President.AS long as the MEDIA is backing you,you are guaranteed to beat out your opponents. That doesn't translate as well in the NFL where the MEDIA can't be extremely biased and bigotted and help you win a championship. You have to have skill and experience. We have already seen you don't have to have any skil or experience or even have to be a good person to be elected President in the Last election.Just be a MEDIA whore lapdog.
