Larry Fitzgerald is, apparently, going to be under a little bit of scrutiny over the next few weeks. And I'm not just talking everyone finding out if the Cardinals are fo' real. No, see, Larry's ladyfriend has gotten a restraining order type of deal on him, following an alleged play-turned-serious fight.Angela Nazario claims she brought the couple's son to visit Larry at his Phoenix home last October when the former lovers began arguing.I'm not entirely sure how Arizona law works, but I find it pretty odd that the female's name in a domestic violence case was actually released. Almost as odd that this is surfacing when it happened "last October".
Nazario alleges in her legal papers filed in Arizona, Fitzgerald attempted to "diffuse the situation" by raising his fist and challenging her to a play fight. Nazario admits she responded by swinging at him and "may have hit his face."
Fitzgerald then turned from playful to enraged, allegedly pushing Nazario down to her knees. She claims he "grabbed me by my hair with both hands on the back of my head very very hard and tossed me across the room."
And while it's not my place to decide on what may or may not have allegedly happened, it's quite interesting to note that Ms. Nazario started throwing punches first, before Fitzgerald actually got violent. Not saying it excuses anything, but it certainly changes the scope of what happened. Odds are that this, while potentially disruptive, doesn't derail the Cardinals anymore than their already putrid December.

It may also be important to note that she filed a pfa versus a police report. The latter cannot be investigated, nor does it have legal consequences for lying.

I'm going to preface this by saying that I in no way condone this sort of thing and if he did do this, he should be arrested, but isn't this sort of odd that these allegations came out right before a playoff game?? Remember last year, Randy Moss was accused of doing something to his lady friend down in Florida right before the Jacksonville game and was later cleared of all of those charges??? Randy was unstoppable all year long but when that all came out, Randy was not the same guy on the field... Randy was a non-factor in the two playoff games and if not for that late TD in the Super Bowl, he was not much of a factor in the Super Bowl as well..
I just have a hard time believing that Larry did this, because up to this point, Larry has had a squeaky-clean reputation and there are alot of vindictive, gold-digging women out there that are out to get some of these Pro athletes.. They can't have them, so they try to mess up their reputations.. There are going to be some idiots that are going to accuse him of this without knowing all of the facts.. I'm just saying, lets just wait until all of the facts come out.. Let's hear Larry's side of this story before we accuse him of anything..

how bizarre you straight men/people are. so, this chick throws a punch with a closed fist into this man's face, he responds, pretty tamely in my view, yet all of you so-called tough straight guys are stammering over each other to "not excuse what he did" and "how strange that the "female's" name was released". give me an f-ing break. women are EQUALLY as violent as mena dn are often behind the violence perpetrated by their straight boyfriends, who jump like little girls to do the biddi g of these chicks, yet gay men are somehow effeminate. uh huh???? you straights are bizarre and live by a strange code.

If the man had thrown the first punch and told the police that it was just a "play punch," he would have been charged immediately. She is guiltier than he is, it sounds like to me.

Where do these guys find these women? I realize that nice people are hard to find but sports figures need to aim for a higher IQ and ladies with educations. What do they have to lose? Don't have babies with volatile women, you know what is coming down the line. It's called golddigger fellas. Don't hear about Peyton Manning, LT'S wife was his school sweetheart. The point is that the sharp ones don't get involved in nasty situations.

not sure how domestic abuse laws work in zona` but in other states those who initiate the violent act is the guilty party..seems like this woman is well aware of the affects it can have on fitzgerald and she seems content to play this out for maybe a financial settlement for herself (I`M SURE HE TAKES CARE OF HIS CHILD)..ATHLETES THAT ARE WELL PAID ARE TARGETED FOR SCHEMES AND PLOTS TO EXTORT MONEY.. WILL NOT BE SURPRISE THIS END UP IN A PRIVATE SETTLEMENT AND A RECONCILATION STATEMENT IS MADE!!!

Who care man. This is some sort of leverage for money or something. The Cardinals suck anyway and won't go deep into the playoffs. They shouldn't be there.

First off, I am not a fan of pro. sports or the players. I havae come to believe that when the sport is a bit violent, thep layers are also. I think that it is the mind set that they are in when they play the game, it does not turn off. I also think that society is partially to blame as they are made to think that they are gods and can do no wrong. Then there are the groupies that end up as girl friends......no won't go there, other then to say that I notice that there are so many making these claims and reports and going for money, so I do wonder about them as well. I also want to say that there are violent people in all walks of life and financial settings. My own marriage broke up after 40 years and one, just one threat. I tossed him out on his behind and never looked for him. I think that more spouses, husband and wife, should go that route. I did it at almost 70 and with just a very small SS check to survive on.

Sounds to me like the girlfriend is the one who's violent! Getting hit first would entitle Larry to a much more forceful response than to one he executed. Actually, I applaud his restraint! No story here.
As far as those who say "I don't excuse what he did". Uh, what did he do? He didn't hit her. How do we know this "lady" isn't 6'2", 170 lbs of in shape muscle and power? Any stupid macho dude who thinks because he's a man, a woman can't him obviously didn't grow up around sistas like my sisters, wife & mother.

Forget the incident. He isn't excused for what he did but she did hit him. doesn't sound like a joke slap. any one else tired of hearing about the feats of M. Phelps. He won most of the medals with a team effort. He was only part of the team. Shouldn't we be hearing from all of them?

Pretty obvious that her laywer advised her to put this out in the public arena right now in hopes of forcing some kind of large settlement in order to avoid bad publicity.
It's all BS, because if there had really been ANY violence on Larry's part he would already have been arrested.
Period.
Why do people like so much to automatically assume that "only men" are violent? I've had a couple girlfriends with vicious, violent tempers, despite their "sweet" public personas. Both genders have equal potential for violance AND manipulation.

Man, people who play sports do play a little ruff. I don't condone beating a woman by any means. However if the woman was that upset with him just leave & never have anything to do with him,(or his money) again. The fact is that most of these women are looking for someone to keep them.
