The Chargers and Broncos -- and to be more specific, Jay Cutler and Philip Rivers -- have a pretty heated rivalry that extends back a few years. And even if San Diego is dominating on the field, there's still puh-lenty of trash talk to go around. So, given the frustration of having the Chargers make he and his team look like a total choker this year, it's not surprising that Cutler had some spicy words for his opponents after Sunday night's game. It's a little more surprising that he would call out his own team too, but, hey, he's got an arm that's better than Elway!
Cutler stopped to answer an unambiguous question: Was it fair to conclude that the team he just played is for real?Ro-wr. It might be an accurate assessment, given the not-so, um, competitive nature of the AFC West this year, but still, it doesn't really behoove Cutler to try and sling barbs at a team that just finished slapping him around in a division-clinching, prime-time game.
"These guys?" the Pro Bowl quarterback asked, gesturing to the players celebrating behind him. "San Diego? No, I don't think so. I think Indy'll handle 'em pretty good. We really can't stop anybody, and that's the bottom line."
Additionally, the Chargers, as has been mentioned plenty of places, match up pretty well with the Colts, so should there be a repeat of last year's playoff matchup (Chargers beat Colts, obv), you better believe Rivers will have something to say back at old Jay.

I'm not surprised that he called out his own team. He's not a man. He's not a leader. He hangs his head, mopes pouts and crys on the sidelines for godssakes. Now he's blaming and pointing fingers...typical lil boy Jay.

wow another biased charger fan article...this one isnt as bad as when you said cutler treating his diabetes is the same as him taking steroids, but its still pretty ridicules. cutler did not call out the defense, he called out the team...including himself...hence the "we really cant stop anybody"

Cutler needs to shut up.
He was the good guy in the whole Rivers feud, but he's quickly becoming the a-hole.
And FWIW, it is kind of similar, getting insulin injections. Similar, if you want to equate not dying to enhancing your performance. Was somebody actually ignorant enough to say that? The only similarities are that HGH and insulin are both hormones.

"We" Cutler doesn't play D. I bet "We" would have fun in practice next year if "We" weren't wearing a red jersey.

He definetly hurts his own cause when comes out and says this stuff, because guys on the other team will be in his hear and fired up all game. I'm pretty torn though in this spat. Im a fna of both guys. Rivers went to one of my favorite schools, NCState and Jay Cutler is from a town just down the road from me. I hope both stay in the AFC West for a long time, cause it's great theatre.

Who cares? All I know is that the Redskins will forever be non-achievers as long as they dont have a leader, a playmaker, and a QB that can go through his progressions and find the open receiver like the majority of other QBs in the NFL.

Thanks sandy, and yew Will Brinson stated this after the chargers week 2 loss
"All that being said, yeah, needles appear to have the same effect on Cutler as they do on Jose Canseco."
a very classless and ignorant comment. But o well typical charger fan comment...
dont get me wrong i resepect the chargers (including rivers) but there fans are quickly becoming the most hated of the NFL

Wow, den615 really has a problem with Charger fans. Don't be bitter. I agree that the diabetes comment is ridiculous and so would any intelligent person. Are you saying theat all Bronco fans are reasonable and without rancor? BTW Rivers has been quite professional all year and has tried to downplay the whole back and forth between Cutler and himself - you can't say the same about Jay Cutler.

Hey den615 I don't really care who your team is, but it sounds like your team didn't do so well this year. Stop the hate just because Chargers are in the playoffs. Theres always next year.
