In a game in which the winner would earn a spot in the playoffs, the Philadelphia Eagles destroyed and embarrassed the Dallas Cowboys in South Philadelphia and extended their season at least another week.Andy Reid, in his post-game press conference, thanked the fans first for showing up at the Linc to cheer on the Birds against their most hated rival. Not shortly after, Reid thanked the Oakland Raiders and Houston Texans for doing their part to put the Eagles in position to play next weekend. How 'bout them Oakland Raiders?!?
Finally, he acknowledged his players for bringing the thunder on the final day of the regular season and making the Dallas Cowboys look more like Monaco's Team than America's Team.
It was an all-out team showing by the Eagles, who put up impressive offensive drives ending in two McNabb touchdown passes and another QB sneak in the first half. After that, the Birds' defensive looked rabid against a lifeless Cowboys offense. Tony Romo came up extremely small, giving the ball away, in another big game in the lore of Romo.
I'm not going to lie, as an Eagles fan, I counted this team out just a few short weeks ago. They had impressive wins and ugly losses over the past few weeks. But at the end of the day, the 9-6-1 Eagles season will go on. Eagles fans everywhere will take it.
As the Giants showed us last year, any team that earns a playoff spot has a chance to win the Super Bowl. The Eagles, despite how ugly it was along the way, have earned that chance.
One thing is certain, the McNabb era in Philadelphia is not over. Donovan performed very well in the first half with great improvisation on the big 54-yard pass play to Correll Buckhalter as well as great touch on the pretty ball to DeSean Jackson.
The Eagles will face the Vikings and former Philadelphia play-caller Brad Childress next weekend in the first round of the playoffs.

Wade heartless and emotionialist Phillips needs to go. If Wade is here next year, the fans should move their loyalty to another team. This is the best example of a leaderless team I have ever seen. If last years "you can go to Cabo on the eve of your biggest game" was not enough, this years total "dazed and confuzed" should ice the cake. No offense, no special teams, Pac man out of control, what else needs to be said.

It is like a comedy show and a drama all in one! It really is GREAT TV! Hey, bring in Vick next year and keep the circus going! It is truly must see TV. Even my wife watches the soap opera that is the dallas cowboys! Please dont deprive us of seeing T.O. cry for his QB. Or crying because Jason Witten gets the ball more. LOL!! The laughing stock of the league again!! And dont tell me about your 5 rings!! It is pointless and it was aLOOOOng time ago. My son hasnt even seen the Cowboys in the playoffs ever. So shut up about your 5 rings! NO ONE CARES!! LOL!

The Cowboys have several critical issues.... Beginning with the Jerry Jones (Owner, President, and General Manager). In professional sports, if your franchise is identlified by the owner... rest assured this is the common ingredient to sports franchise failure.
Proof in point, the NY Yankees (George Steinbrenner), Los Angeles Raiders (Al Davis) and the Washington Redskins (Daniel Snyder). These organizations have been plagued by the larger than life egos of their owners.
The Cowboys were most successful under strong head coaches such as Jimmy Johnson & Barry Switzer. Eventually even their success became their fall, as Owner Jerry Jones battled for the spotlight & credit for winning. As a result, these strong coaches would leave shortly after celebrating championships. Terms of their separations surely was a conflict of interest... as Jerry Jones craved more than winning - a reputation for building dynasties and making money off of the team brand.
Jerry Jones simply needs to step back as an owner and let the football experts sport manage his team.

tony needs to change his attitude about winning. He doesn't seem to care whether he does or not. We will have Joe back. We need to use Cornelius Bennet more. We need to improve the offensive line. A tough training camp will be needed with a lot of nut cutting.

We have nothing to hag our heads about. So what we didn't make the playoffs... The Cowboys came up on the losing end this time. Due to slight miscalculations we seem to have a reversal of fortune. The Dallas Cowboys will be back... the team has got to plug up a few leaks... We'll be back to fight another day....

What a dumb thing to say. ALL the teams will be back to fight another day. But your team wont be back until next year. And then they wont make the playoffs again. Know why? Because your "team" has ego-maniacs, cry babies, criminals, unprofessional players, undisciplined players, a pretty boy soft QB with a stupid girlfriend ( who is quite hot ) and a predictable offensive coordinator that really has no business calling plays, and they are EXTREMELY overrated as a team. All they care about is themselves, and how they can celebrate every tackle, first down, and catch. They really look stupid doing that. Did the other Dallas teams that won 5 super bowls do that? NO, they didnt! They played team ball. Something your current team does not understand and will never understand!

The turnovers killed the Cowboys. If Barber holds onto that ball, the Cowboys comeback and win the game, instead it ends up being the dessimation it was. Granted, the Eagles played a nearly flawless game, I hope the best for them.

I am a big Cowboys fan and have been since the 70's. But like it or not I have to agree. The Cowboys don't play as a team.
They have a tremendous amount of talent
but no leadership or discipline. They need a coach who will won't put up with any crap.

Do folks know that little ole' Rush Limbaugh is still writing about how overrated Donovan McNabb is? Yes, in his web site article dated November 19, 2008 Limbaugh was once again attacking McNabb. Of course, this was after the abysmal Cincinnati game. I wonder what the Head Ditto Head will say about McNabb tomorrow morning?
Perhaps Rush will now write a column about how incredibly overrated Tony Romo is? NOT!

I agree with anyone who who puts the blame on Jerry Jones, because it's his fault without a doubt. Now here's a guy that has no understanding of the importance of team chemistry and a strong locker room. What did he think would happen when he scooped up every misfit, criminal, and ego-maniac available. Let's see...First he picks up Terry Glenn, one of the softest players in the NFL who is known for quitting on his teams. Than he picks up T.O., the team oblitorator, than Pacman and Tank, known criminals.... And said, "Hey, we'll throw all these players that no other team would touch (except maybe the Raider) in the same locker room... It'll all work out!" Then he tops it off with pretty much the worst choice possible for a head coach with players like these...Mr. Wade Phillips!! The ultimate pushover of NFL head coaches. The guy that would rather be seen as your "beloved uncle" rather than your coach. I wouldn't trust that dude to control a class of kindergartners, let alone an NFL team full of misfits... And than he just looks the other way while all the little boys in grown up bodies do whatever the hell they want. It would be a travesty if he's still the head coach next year... But I bet he wil be, cuz firing him would be the equivalent of admitting that he made a mistake. Something I can't see Jerry doing. If they want to get things right again, get rid of the T.O.'s and Pacman's, get rid of Phillips, hire a REAL general Manager and bring in a head coach that can instill some discipline, and the players that don't fall in line can sit.. Build through the draft, and find more Jason Whitten type guys to lead your locker room. As an Eagles fan, I can sit and revel in the fact that Jones won't do any of these things I mentioned, and they will continue to fail. Hell, Michael Vick will probably be the next douche to don the blue and white. As long as Jones runs the ship, the Boys will continue to be "America's Joke" rather than "America's Team".
