As discussed ealier, Tony Romo once again came up very small in a big game. The Cowboys QB was often viewed as a savior for America's Team, but after failing to get Dallas into the playoffs once again, all is not well in Big D.
When asked how he deals with all of these tough defeats, Romo responded, "I wake up tomorrow and I keep living."
Albeit with a painfully sore back and vacation plans.
Romo's loud-mouthed receiver, Terrell Owens, called the game an "old-fashioned butt whipping." It's safe to say his quarterback would agree.

Jerry Jones has proved over the years that he shouldn't be the general manager (starting with the firing of Tom Landry) - he has the money, why doesn’t he pay a competent manager to do a professional job? Unfortunately for the fans, Jerry’s too much of a control freak with an enormous ego.
Additionally, I blame Tony Romo for his lack of judgment and lack of concentration; how could Jessica Simpson moving in with him be anything but a major distraction? She’s a jinx and a complete idiot proving once again that a man’s “small head” is speaking for his “big head.” He’s a real nice guy but he hasn’t demonstrated the intelligence of winning quarterbacks like Roger Staubach or Troy Aikman.
And then there’s Jason Garrett’s unimaginative offense. Granted he’s young but with a Princeton education, he’s supposed to be smart. Last year must have been a fluke because if he continues to telegraph the next play to the opposing defense, he needs to spend the off season learning how to mix it up, or he may need to be replaced…

You read my mind and stole the words right out of my mouth Margaret. Me and my family are Die Hard Cowboys fans, but we're not delusional. We tell it like it is about our team. And the biggest problem is Jerry Jones. Dallas needs a coach that's gonna get in their behinds when they're aren't playing like they should but who can also motivate a team, of men who get paid to whether they win or lose, to play to win.
But noooo...Jerry's ego is too big for that. He isn't gonna hire someone who may disagree with him at times and voice his opinion. He'll continue to hire soft pushovers like Wade Phillips who are yes men. As much as I love Dallas, they needed that blow out. The needed to realize that they've lost their heart and that Jerry Jones has damn near lost his mind. I can only hope and pray that Jerry comes to his senses, that we get a new coaching staff, and that some of the players grow some balls and gain some sense of pride and determination to perform better in 2009.

I appreciate your passion but lets not forget that Jerry Jones has been the general manager and CEO of 3 SuperBowl teams. Not many in the NFL can say this.
I felt sorry for Tony Romo, The last 5 games the offensive line has been beaten badly. the receivers are running wrong or poor routes. The running backs and tightends are not chip blocking (Witten has an excuse cracked ribs and severe sprained ankle) NO qb could hold up to the beatings that Romo is taking. Saying Romo isn't smart enough just isn't true the rest of the offense has to help and give the same effort and it just isn't there and thats COACHING.
This brings me to Garret I couldn't agree more he is very predictable and stale. I had to wonder at times if he wasn't trying to fail in order to speed along Phillips demise so he can advance to head coaching position. HMMMM.

Do you know how stupid you sound when you say its all a girls fault that they lost?!? The man is entitled to have a relationship with someone he cares about. He shouldn't be crucified for that just because he plays a SPORT!!! Football is not life. He deserves to be happy. His fans and teammates should leave him alone. Just face that they had a bad season this year, one woman cannot cause a team to lose.

i agree on the part of Jason G play calling. The Eagles had the Cowboys BOXED in all day. Yet the play calling was to hit to wide recievers with little time for Romo. Why not send the wide outs deep, then throw underneath to backs. Where was the screen play? I hope that Jason G goes out with Wade.
Here I am watching from a television and could have made better play calling selections. Remember when Romo first entered the starting role - he was like a young Brett F with a gun-slinger mentaility. Romo is not a precision type quarterback like Troy and Roger so why not let him rome around as he did in the beginning especially since the offensive line is not doing their job.
Great coaches become creative during games in which changes are necessary to win games. Throwing underneath deep coverage, screen passes, and roming quarterbacks, tighten and bring in the defensive backs, perhaps allowing for an open deep receiver every now and then.
The cowboys played sloppy; players getting upset with each other on the sidelines; players not doing their job to what they get paid for; hence a GREAT SOUR reflection against the owner and the coaches. SOMEONE, please help the cowboys, they are way to talented to look so DARN BAD SLOPPY!
There's nothing wrong with TO... in my view, he is a solid athelete who just wants to win... he is not perfect and will miss a ball or two... but he will make the big ones for you.

I've been a (long suffering) Cowboy's fan since the '60s.
Jerry may have been along for the ride for 3 Super Bowl appearances, but he fired the coach that took him to 2 of them (back to back!!) over EGO issues.
A couple of weeks ago he said he didn't mind the drama (at the time, TO complaining about a conspiracy between Romo and Witten) because it resulted in more press coverage.
JJ doesn't give a RIP about the fans, only his bottom line. He's a sharp (albeit egotistical) businessman, and as long as Dallas fans continue to line his pockets with cash, he'll be there to collect it.
Wise up, Dallas fans. Figure out a way to get him to sell the team to someone who knows what they're doing and send him packing back to Arkansas. Hell, I'll pay the cab fare!!

one thing i do agree with. dallas is like the raiders and redskins. you have ownerws who don't stay out of the operations and prove that they are incapable of running and owning a team. i think romo is a terrific quarterback, but with 2 receivers who are constantly screaming at him for the ball and pout when they don't get it or run to the press screaming, it makes for a lonely bench when you're the qb. romo looked all alone on the sidelines...what happened with t.o. crying to the press "he's my quarterback"

Again we deal with bargain players and coaching. Jerry hires losers. He thinks he is so great he can win with anyone. Jason Garrett is so predictable PEE WEE teams could defend them. Wade Phillips is a yes sir man. When will we get back to team of old when talent was the main issue.. Not money!! That is also why Jerry won't make a deal with Time Warner so we the fans can watch..

Are you saying that you have to be celibate in order to flourish in a "Dallas Cowboy" offense? Thats the most ridiculous thing I've ever read. You need to worry more about your owners greedy acquisition of big name players, (too many cooks spoil the stew) while teams like the Vikings and Falcons go on to the play-offs.

Cowboy Observation's:
As long die hard cowboy fan going back to the Starbauch era, the Cowboy's loss to the Giants at home defined the Cowboy's this year.
That loss showed the Cowboy's had no imaginative offense, no emotional Cowboy pride linking to our heritage. They couldn't even use the old Cowboy offensive set. They didn't even adjust their game in the 2nd half last year to the typical 8-9 man front of the Giants. This year was a very disappointing add on. I agree with the Ravens decision that they did not hire hire Jason Garrett. Anyway, until the discipline, pride, and commitment to develop outside the box, the Cowboys will continue to be all hype. We cannot allow defenses to dictate our offense by allowing corners to drop back and safeties to move up on our highly talented and physical receivers. Quick outs, slants, quick pitches to the outside, all should be used to force the corners up and safeties to stay back.

Margaret,
That is a perfect analysis, but it all starts at the top, Jones is the culprit in this soap, though I don't know that Romeo is going to be able to overcome his mental deficits even if Jones turned this thing over to someone competent

The Cowboys have many of the greatest players that money can buy, but they do NOT have a team. A good team will beat great players on a regular basis. Until Dallas has a good team they will not be playing in January. There is NO I in team.

It's easy to say what should be done from your living room isn't it? For those who have actually played the game, you know it's not as simple as putting your pads on and playing. If you pay attention to what's been happening, you'll notice that the offensive line is getting beat consistently, and the lack of a solid, consistent running game, that softens a defense up, makes any team more one dimensional. In football, your success or failure begins and ends with your offensive line. Romo this, Romo that. Romo, like all qb's, has made some bad decisions. Try sitting back there with only about 3.5 seconds to find the open guy. See how easy it is then.
You seem to forget that Jerry Jones, with his same ego and decision making, brought you 3 super bowls. The only recent bad decisions were bringing on T.O., and hiring Wade. Other than that, he's brought you fans something to cheer about. Jason Garretts play calling? Predictable due to a lack of a running game against some great defenses. Open your eyes, and see it for what it really is. When you're not strong in any of the 3 phases of football, the other team will exploit it and game plan for it. Theres a lot more that goes on before and during a game than the average fan sees.
It's absolutely ridiculous for people to put any blame on Romo's decision to move in his girlfriend. If you have a signifigant other, or starting a new relationship, do you then not do your job as well? Does your focus and energy on the job get lost in your new or existing relationship. You would probably say 'no'. So don't be ignorant enough to bring that in as him losing focus. It's retarted to even think that .....
Cowboy fans. You sing your teams praises when they're winning. Be frustrated and upset, but be realistic and quit griping when things go wrong.

I agree 100%. Jerry Jones and Wade Phillips have proved time and time again that they can't take the Cowboys anywhere. I mean I'm a die hard Cowboys fan, and the last thing I would do is bash my team but it happens every year. We get so close to the playoffs or in the first round of the playoffs and what happens, we lose, and not just by a few points we get destroyed, and Wade Phillips couldn't give a crap. He gives his team no motivation and gives a careless attitude toward his team. If the Cowboys do get pumped up it's by T.O. finally getting guys mad at him in the locker room. Also I do agree that Romo deserves blame. He's a great QB, but he makes throws that make him look like he's new to this league. We will finally win a playoff game and go somewhere when Jerry Jones calls it quits and finally gets the brains to fire Wade Phillips.
