This season, FanHouse writers take their cameras to NFL stadiums to document what happens when you stop being polite and start getting real. Or something. We've cleverly titled it "FanHouse in the Stands."Okay, I've seen some weird stuff at NFL games like tailgating snakes and lame gameday attire, but this picture that my friend Andy sent me is truly inexplicable.
Why would someone wear a David Carr PANTHERS jersey to a Houston Texans game against the Titans?
How did such a jersey even exist? Mister Mittens lost his starting job with the Panthers to Vinny Freaking Testaverde, a guy who wasn't in camp with the team and didn't know the names of the guys he was playing with when he took over the offense. Matt Moore, a rookie from Oregon State got on the field over Carr.
Did the Panther Mittens guy lose a bet? If he loves the man so much, why not rock a Carr Giants jersey? Does this guy want someone to *accidentally" spill a big plate of nachos on him? Because I can't think of any jersey you could wear to a Texans game that would cause more abuse being flung your way.
Anyhow, I felt compelled to put together a photoshop essay to share my thoughts on this. Enjoy....
The obligatory FailBlog picture:

A picture questioning the jersey wearer's intelligence:

Figuring that this guy might have a taste for self-abuse:

Truly, if anyone knows the true story of Panther Mittens, please leave a comment in the blog because I would really like an explanation.

"Dude, if you make that 7-10 split, I'll wear a David Carr jersey to the next game... No, wait, I'll wear a David Carr PANTHERS jersey. For real. You have NO shot, brah..."

There is a guy who tailgates in the Platinum lot at Reliant that wears a custom Texans Jersey with the number 8 and V Young on the back. Explain that one to me.

I can't believe they even got around to making Carolina Carr jerseys... much less selling them.
He must have taken some. Wow. No wonder he has his head down.

Listen..first. gee maybe you need to turn in your man card too, commenting on a persons' shampoo based on a tiny picture. actually, my hair is shiny with a tendency towards being dry if you care so much women's hair styles.
secon: it is funny. what is more lame, pointing out a bizarre jersey at a game, or leaving an ee cummingsesque comment about hair and that you don't care about a post but care enough to leave a comment?
now we are even. :)

Are you serious? A guy foolishly supports a player who doesn't make it big, spends $150 on a jersey of said player, and then the guy is just supposed to throw the jersey away because a not-very-talented photoshopper on the internet doesn't like it?
Maybe the guy is a Panthers and/or general NFL fan, and lives in Houston? Is that so incredible to believe? Or is it retarded for people to wear jerseys of players that no longer play for the team, because THAT never happens in an era of free agency, oh no.
This entire post is borderline youtube comment-level in its quality.

This is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. This would be akin to wearing a Joey Harrington Dolphins jersey to a Lions game. I guarantee there's no way this guy walked out of the stadium without at least coming close to a severe beating....lol.

If you don't find any sort of humor in that pic, stop visiting the site because you know DICK about football.

Apologies for thinking you were just a rude dude. But geez, me-ow on the hair comment. Really, you can't tell squat from a picture that size.
Thanks all for reading and commenting,
Steph

What I find funny is that David Carr has greasy hair too. Has anyone ever seen David Carr and Steph Stradley in the same room at the same time? Tommie, your comments would be more appropriate on VidalSassoon.com

Haha. I dressed up as the 2006 David Carr for Halloween. Alas there are no pictures. You know it is the 2006 version because I was only wearing one glove, MJ style. heh.

Wow what a lame article. Cant believe someone would take the time to write about some sad sack over a jersey...who cares anyway. Does it make you feel better about yourself when you make fun of an overweight lonely man like the Carr fan dude? The title of this article is misleading...thought maybe a fan actually did something noteworthy...but no just some b.s. Oh but your cool steph.

Getting rid of David Carr was supposed to assure that the Texans would have winning seasons and go to the playoffs. I mean, Carr was supposed to be THE problem with the Texans. It wasn't the bad coaching, or the horrible o-line, or the lack of a running game, or the sorry defense. It was simply David Carr's fault that the team was struggling. Right?
Carr's been gone how long? - Three years. How many winning seasons have they had? - zero. How many playoff seasons have they had? - zero. What have they accomplished? - absolutely nothing.

Definitely a sports oddity. Thanks for the post! The only reason for liking Carr as a QB and player of the game on any team that I can think of is that perhaps you are a Fresno State fan or alumn or a member of his family. It wasn't so much that he was incapable of playing football, just that he often expressed that he didn't necessarily enjoy the game or respect the position he was in, often being simply apathetic about football in general.
Also odd here is all the talk about your hair--You look great, as I am sure you know. Some like to spread joy and some like to spread poo-poo. (will that word cost me my man card?) Happy Holidays.
