In Washington, it is good etiquette to concede when it looks like you aren't going to win. The Redskins made today the day the told the world that they aren't ready for a playoff berth.
That's what happens when you lose to the Cincinnati Bengals, 20-13.
Just yesterday I showed how this game trended toward a Bengals' victory. The trend I forgot to point out was that the Redskins aren't playing well at all right now. The offense isn't very efficient, the defense can come unglued and they are making mistakes that they weren't making earlier in the year.
Examples? How about a Chris Cooley fumble on the opening drive? Or Mike Sellers' fumble at the goal line? Or giving up 79 yards on a screen pass when it was 2nd-and-23? Or being down 17-0 before you get a first down? Or getting a celebration penalty which causes the kickoff to be penalized 15 yards? Then that kickoff goes out of bounds and gives the Bengals the ball in your territory?
Playoff teams don't do that. They certainly don't do that against a team that entered mid-December with just one win.
Don't worry about that, Redskins fans, with the way this team has been handled over the past six weeks by their opponents. This loss was a perfect capper to a week that saw Jim Zorn and Clinton Portis exchanging barbs and the players holding a meeting mid-week.
At least the District has Inauguration Day to look forward too.

again and again, we Redskins fans are subjected to this crap put forward by the two headed monster in the front office known as "My Cousin Vinny" Cerrato and "Danny boy" Snyder. I can't take this anymore, don't fire the coach, fire the owner and his little patsy they pretend he know's how to put together a team.
Until the Head front office formula changes, and a real football GM comes in and tells Snyder to shut up and just write the checks, this is the crap we are gonna get year after year, High profile players, lots of promise, and an eventual let down at the end of the season. As A fan I am offended that Snyder thinks he can keep messing around with the football matters of his team and give us a sub par team. IT HASN'T WORKED FOR JERRY JONES SINCE HE STARTED MEDDLING IN HIS TEAM, AND IT SURE THE HELL ISN'T GONNA WORK FOR DAN SNYDER.
WE NEED A GM, NOW!!!!! FIRE 'MY COUSIN VINNY' CERRATO

I think we certainly have a playoff contending team, hell, maybe even a super-bowl contending team. BUT!... Everyone has to remain on the same page at all times, stay focused, and we need a coach who's not looking to be everyone's friend and be "Mr. Nice Guy" to all the players, and try to fix everyone's personal problems. He either needs to get real, and hard-nosed, or get out. I'm not giving up on this team, not because of a bad late-season run. Our players are only a small percentage of this recent problem. We need to "beef up" the sidelines (coaches, etc...) So...good call Drew

Are you high, a super bowl team, are you kidding me it shows that you have no business typing up a statement. The truth is that 80 percent of the team lacks heart and the will to fight for a win. The coach lost all confidence to call plays that can strangle the other team and put points on the board. They dont have the guts to take a win, only to recieve one as a gift at this point. Vinny you are garbage you are a hack and a coc head. If Dan wasnt such an idiot he would beat you like a rented mule. Thats why the rest of the NFL hates you and knows your stupid and easy to rip off. Skins organization is in the trash.

The skins offense has struggled. We cant seem to protect the quarterback. We have all the talent in the world Campbell, Portis, Moss, Cooley ect. We do have some injuries at the offensive line, Samules, Jansen. We never seem to throw the ball down the field or 3 yrd gains if we do pass the ball and poor managment of the football game by the coach Zorn at times. I dont think firing Zorn is the answer. I tend to agree that we def need a GM that can put a winner out on the field. But I'm sure that Zorn is in danger because you can't be competing for a playoff spot and lose to the to the Bengals who are 1- and whatever. I am just disappointed with they way things have gone at the end here.

I am really disappointed in the Redskins. But how can we really expect to win with about six decent offensive plays that most of the players can execute. Do we really expect to fool another NFL team with the same six plays in week 9 thru 16? We have an offensive line that thinks blocking is a courtesy call. The defense has just had it trying to salvage games after foul play by offense. Does the coach have any trick plays or something odd to at least the viewers eyes? I could go on and on...
