As if things weren't bad enough for the Dallas Cowboys, cornerback Terence Newman decided to jump into the Sweet Valley High drama on Friday, and started pointing fingers at the Dallas coaching staff for not setting an example of what it means to be accountable. This comes a day after reports surfaced that Terrell Owens was jealous of the fact Tony Romo and Jason Witten are best friends forever, and that the two hold double-super-secret meetings to design plays that purposely keep the ball out of Mr. Owens' hands. Even though Romo has been throwing the ball to Owens more than any other player on the team in recent weeks. But, hey, in the immortal words of Homer Simpson: "Oh, people can come up with statistics to prove anything, 14% of people know that."
Exactly.
Anyway, Tim MacMahon of the Dallas Morning News has Newman's quotes from his appearance on ESPN Friday morning and, well, he's blaming somebody else for the team being full of guys that like to blame somebody else. Yeah, accountability.
"Players make the plays, they give up the plays, they take the blame for that," Newman said. "When coaches make mistakes around here, there's nothing said about it. They just go and try to diffuse it, and try to put that blame on somebody else, rather than owning up to it. I think that's one of the things that's hurting us as a team, players just not owning up to things that happened, as well as coaches."Newman, by the way, agrees with the suggestion that Owens needs to get the ball more. Apparently, he too missed the memo that is making the rounds that Romo has targeted Owens on more passes than any other receiver since his return to the lineup.
This is where we all look at Wade Phillips and say, "Hello, is there anybody home?" Of course, I've never been impressed with Phillips as a head coach in the NFL. I mean, this is a guy who once benched his starting quarterback going into a playoff game because the backup -- Rob Johnson, of all people -- played well in a meaningless Week 17 game. I imagine this is what things would have been like in Dallas had Dave Campo had a talented team full of ego-maniacs that liked to hear the sound of their own voices. Chaos. Total chaos.
As for Phillips, he's convinced everything is fine and dandy in the locker room so, please, enough talking. No more talking. Stop talking!
"I've talked to the team, I've been with the team. I think the team has talked together. We've all talked together. There's enough talking. We need to get it done. That's what I told them. We need to get it done. That's the most important thing."I haven't seen this much drama since 10th grade, when Sara got mad at Katie for telling Miriam that Dan liked Alicia. Though, that scenario featured far more hair pulling.

I have been a huge cowboy fan since 1972 and every season there is drama , drama , and more drama . We had drama with Roger Staubach , Clint Longley , Tont Dorsett , Danny White - there has always been tons of drama flowing out of the Cowboys camp . I think this drama this year has a name and the name is Jerry Jones . I will be the first one to say that Jerry is a great owner , you can tell he has a passion to win and spend the money that needs to be spent to win --but the General Manager Jerry Jones does not have a clue of what he is doing . He runs this team like its a fantasy football team , as long as Jerry is the GM he will not win another superbowl . Jerry has won 3 superbowls on a team that Jimmy built mainly due to the fact Jimmy was in charge . The only reason Barry won was that it was the last pieces of Jimmys team . When Parcels came in he was in charge and in turn we started to rise again with great talent , then when Parcels left the talent began to dwindle as well as the player dedication . Folks I love the cowboys but they are done this year , we have a bad coach , a WR that only thinks of himself (TO) , an offence line that cant block half the time . We have a team with alot of talent but no chemistry and no heart . All be the first to say that wade has to go but that wont fix the problem , this team lacks passion , heart and character ..--->> R I P

Carlson,Jerry is the WORST owner out there outside of Al Davis. How many owners get rid of a Back 2 Back Super Bowl winning coach? ONE! The only reason Dallas won SB XXX was because the PLAYERS wanted it. And of course Neil O'Donell's 2 gifts to Larry Brown. I am a die-hard Cowboys fan who loves his team, hates his owner, coach, and TO. What Jerry did to Landry was classless, and his choice of Jimmy Johnson sucked (at the time of course). Jimmy rebuilt that team with the 7 for 1 player trade w/ Minnesota(Herschal Walker). He should've never been canned. If my coach is winning SBs, I'll let him have all the power he wants as long as we're winning. Case in point New England. Dallas should've never got TO especially when only a few yrs earlier when playing for San Francisco went to the Star and mocked us. There have been plenty of games where Owens wasn't getting the ball/we were winning. Then we start throwing it to him...DROPS and BLOWING CRITICAL GAMES. Ship him to Oakland where at least Jamarcus Russell(will be great) and McFadden(will also be great) can have a decent receiver to throw to. HE'S NOT THE ANSWER.

I was born in Dallas, I have been a Cowboys fan since day #1. Dallas will not win another Super Bowl, without a head coach.
Jones wants a puppet on a string and that is what he has!
A great coach like Parcels will not put up with his CRAP!
You can't buy superbowls, you build superbowl teams.
Key word (TEAM), not a bunch of over paid has been super stars that all they care about is them selfs and their personal goals in record books. Not team wins. They don't have a clue what the word team means.

Fire the GM of the Cowboys and hire Matt Millen as GM, that would solve a lot of problems. If JJ had a GM, he'd have been gone a long time ago. Great owner, clueless GM. I bet Bill Parcells is laughing behind JJ's back. JJ's a true egotistical fool with lots more money than sense! JJ, hire a real proven GM and back off and count your Super Bowl rings

Football has changed hasn't it? Remember the movie "The Replacemnts? "You have to have Heart!" When you play at the level these guys play, you have to be able to put everything off to the side. EGO'S Movie Star Girlfriends, everything fo the team and for the win. They have the team--in the talent of the players. What they don't have is haven't is a "Team of coaches." People ask me who my favorite team is and I always say I like ot watch coaches. Like Walsh, or Gruden. Cowher, he could write his own ticket. Those are coaches. I think Jerry Jones has shown he can take people and turn them around in some cases, T.O, Dion. Those are/were two of the greatest players in the NFL for Goodness sake.At 35 years old only Michael I" did things T.O. is capable of doing. Back in the day though, Troy, Michael, Emmitt, they had heart, and the team came first. If Romo who is definitely talented goes and wins a Super Bowl, it wil be a miracle. Now it is--Yeah, I'm great, Yeah I make alot of money, Yeah I have a knockout girlfriend. Oh, yeah I play football. Jerry wants to win, T.O. wants to win. Witten wants to win, Romo wins once in awhile.
