Plaxico Burress' road show of unbelievably intelligent decisions continues, apparently, with the news that the Giants wideout didn't just hop out of the shower, pull on some sweatpants, stuff a gun in his trousers and head out to a nightclub. No sirree -- he went to a strip club first, according to the New York Post, and while there, he drank some liquor and pounded some turkey, just like every good-souled American that finds themselves in 'Head Quarters' does.
Hours before shooting himself, Giants receiver Plaxico Burress and two Big Blue buddies hit a high-class West Side strip club - where they hooked up with three ladies, guzzled two bottles of top-shelf tequila, and gobbled the staff's post-Thanksgiving dinner, The Post has learned. To sum up: this situation can't really get any better for Plaxico from this point on. It's especially bad news because, as The Post mentions, the New York City police -- and by extension, presumably Mayor Bloomberg too -- are quite interested in the going-ons of Burress and Giant teammates Antonio Pierce and Ahmad Bradshow at said strip club.
A surly, slobbish Burress ate "like an animal," using his bare hands to snatch pieces of workers' turkey and stuff his face at the Head Quarters club on Nov. 28, a source said.
And the downward spiral continues too, because we get to find out that Plax is dirt cheap too -- he, according to "sources," only pays the minimum $20 for lap dances and has been called "cheap," "rude," and the "least popular celebrity" to grace the clean environment of Head Quarters. Although, you never know, this could end up giving him a logical motive for carrying a handgun.
The Plaxico Burress Saga
Plaxico Burress surrendered to police Dec. 1 and was charged with two counts of illegal handgun possession. The Giants announced that he won't play the rest of the season. Click through to see how things have gone wrong for Burress since the Super Bowl.

David Tyree had the highlight reel catch of Super Bowl XLII, but Plaxico Burress had the game-winner. Eli Manning found Burress in the end zone for the championship-clinching catch - easily Burress' greatest moment as a pro.

Unhappy with his contract situation, Burress skipped the Giants' mandatory summer mini-camp and then sat out much of the preseason with an ankle injury. Then, shortly before the start of the regular season, the Giants agreed to a five-year, $35-million contract extension with the disgruntled receiver.

No mandatory mini-camp, no preseason, no problem. In New York's Week 1 win over Washington, Burress made 10 catches for 133 yards.

In a stunning Week 6 Monday night loss to Cleveland, Burress scored a touchdown but was otherwise shut down - part of a sub-par season that has seen Burress fail to top 100 yards in any game other than the opener.

Burress had a bit of a meltdown in the Giants' Oct. 19 win over San Francisco. The NFL fined him $45,000 for his actions in that game, when he verbally abused an official and threw a ball into the stands. That came just two weeks after the Giants suspended Burress for their Oct. 5 game for missing a team meeting.

In an easy New York win over Baltimore during Week 11, Burress tweaked his hamstring. It was that injury that sidelined him him for Sunday's game against Washington.

The latest Burress moment: Out at a club, just hours after it was reported that he would be inactive against the Redskins because of his hamstring injury, Burress suffered a gunshot wound to his leg - self-inflicted by accident.

I hope my boys (The Giants),can pull themselves together mentally, after this ridiculous showing of public teenage behavior. I get the feeling if Strahan was still on the team, this crap wouldn't have happened. Can't believe how many "stars" take their hard-earned success for granted, and are just so willing to throw it all way on stupid s..t.

.... because if you think for one minute that they ever got a legitimate education in High School or College, you're kidding yourself. They've been pampered boys of the hood from the start and no one ever gave them a slap across the face to teach them otherwise. So they remain in the Hood.

Rob,
I do not think blacks are the only problem in sports. I believe all sports should set guidelines such as players who want to enter Pro must get an college education, if a player casued any trouble first time ban him or her from pro for life and take away their million or six figures salary.
This apply to some of us who have jobs, if we were to cause problem on the job we would be terminated, jailed or etcs based depends on how serious the troble.

Harvey, couldn't have said it perfectly than you have.
Always wondered why these clowns don't get the gift they have been given of all the frame and fortune. I wish I had it-and I'd share it with the deserving. The best fun is making others laugh and have some fun. Then your liviing my friend.

A world class athlete is known by the time they are 7or 8 years old as being something very special. He is wanted by everyone who coaches, handles money, Looks for some kind of reflected light,. He will pass courses without having to study he will be wined and dined to attend this that or the other college and he will get the royal treatment to go pro. What has he learned about life? There are no consequences.

A simple truth that we must face is, "We are what we think". For so many celebs., athletes, leaders and the rest of us, we forget what is the most important thing in Life. What are we feeding our Hearts'?
How about Warrick Dunn? I love his story of victory and triumph. I think Plaxico should perhaps humble himself enough to hear Warrick's story. Who is responsible for Plaxico's condition? Plaxico, not society!

C Mon Harvey. . . . You really think Strahan could of stopped it. Don't think so. . . Stupid is as stupid does. Plax is a real jacka$$ and trying to pull others down with him. Don't really understand these high-profile, highly paid pro players anyways. Isn't there a time and a place. Right in the middle of a possible championship season, you guys decide to act like a group of douchebags. Good job.

A .40 cal Glock, fully loaded, weighs about 2lbs. Sticking that much weight into the waistband of a pair gym pants seems pretty risky too me. Its bound to fall out. He's lucky he didn't shoot himself in the crank.

This is some top-notch reporting on a very important topic. I had heard rumors that he had eaten a BLT before shooting himself, but now I am shocked to hear that it was actually turkey. Good job reporters. Now, if someone could tell me what color socks he was wearing, I think we can call it a day.

I look at it like this...If he's dumb enough to carry a weapon in the waist of a pair of sweatpants..He's dumb enough to try to use it. Good thing he shot himself and not another person but too bad it was only in the leg.....
