For the second time in three weeks, NBC has switched their Sunday Night game. Last week, they rejected the regularly scheduled Patriots-Seahawks game for the Redskins-Ravens contest. Next week, they are moving the Chargers-Buccaneers game so they can show the Panthers vs. Giants. With the Panthers victory over Tampa Bay on Monday night, they have taken over the lead in the NFC South. Carolina also trails the NFC East champion Giants by just one game in the race for home field advantage in the NFC. If the Panthers beat the Broncos this Sunday (and/or the Giants lose to the Cowboys), it will set up a battle for the lead in the NFC in Week 16.
The NFL also moved the Eagles-Redskins and Falcons-Vikings games from 1:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. ET. The "Sunday late game" has been the highest rated time slot for the NFL this season.
The Chargers-Bucs game was moved to 1:00 p.m. ET.

By the way, even if both teams win this week, the game will still be first place. If the Panthers were to beat the Giants, and they had the same record, Carolina would have the head-to-head tiebreaker.

As a Giants fan in Tampa, ANY Giants game I can watch is a good thing. Gotta get Direct TV next year. Soooooo sick of the Bucs! Giants/Panthers should be a good one.

i actually don't like this move Michael from AZ. one thing that has been true about the panthers since 95 is that when ths team is in the limelight and there are high expectations of it, it chokes. there was only one year where the panthers lived up to lofty expectations and that was 2005, when people thought the healthy team would return to the NFC Championship and it did. When there were high expectations of them in 97, 04 and 07, they didn't live up. When they had big seasons in 96 and 03, no one was really expecting it.

Thanx for commenting SoulCity: I don't like the "Panthers Love Fest" going on right now either, I liked the Panthers being a quite 9-3 but its nice to see them get the R-E-S-P-E-C-T they deserve. But the talking heads need to love someone this week.
That NFC Championship game against the Seahawks killed me The Hawks dominated that game. Go Panthers!
