As Michael Vick got ready to head to prison, he had one last errand to run. Some soon-to-be convicts may stop to see some friends or family on their way to the penitentiary, but Vick swung by a Mercedes dealership and picked out a, S-class Mercedes. He whipped out his debit card and paid the $99,589.71 bill in full. It's hard to figure how a Mercedes will make you happy when you can't drive it (and where it depreciates while you sit in prison), but a lot of Vick's spending doesn't make sense for anyone who hasn't been a multi-millionaire. That $100,000 or so he spent on the Mercedes was only part of a $210,000 spending spree on Vick's final day of freedom.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution story that examines Vick's dwindling finances spells out a man who tried to take care of his friends and family (he bought his mom a house and two cars, had a sister on payroll and sent money to his three kids and their mothers). He tried to do some charitable work, although most of the money he donated to his Michael Vick Foundation ended up going to pay a fundraiser an outlandish salary -- only 12 percent of Vick's donation actually went to help the children in Newport News he was trying to help.
But it also spells out the story of a quarterback who threw away money like he always expected there would be more to come. He bought four houses and a condo, 11 cars and $450,000 in jewelry. Now almost all of it is gone. After filing for bankruptcy, Vick has been allowed to keep one house (his mother's), $5,000 in clothes and a retirement account with $96 in it. For a man who once had so much, Vick will have to learn to make do with a whole lot less once he gets out of prison.
What Has Tapped Vicks Millions?
Even Michael Vick's bank accounts aren't spared in his fall from grace. New details of his bankruptcy filing reveal poor financial management of the quarterback's fortune. Click through to see some of the items that has cost Vick his millions.

Eric - you are a fool. Of course about 75% of the people trashing Vick "aren't African-American" (but what that has to do with anything I can't figure out), because approximately 75% of ALL people in this country "aren't African-American". I hope the trashy low-life rots in prison, and homeless dogs should be allowed to move into his Mercedes to get out of the cold. With a little luck, maybe he and your hero OJ can be "butt-buddies"!

This is not a race issue. Nor is it a political issue. I am not sure if I should paste my resume in this box or not. As some people think that my degree make's me better than someone that does not have one. I do not. Some people are meant for college and some are not. This does not make it or break it.
Having a good life and living a good life are all about how you look at things. Vick's actions landed him in jail. It is not my place to say how he can or cannot spend his money. When people start making a lot of money, they often times make mistakes. This comes from a lot of errors. Sometimes its just greed. Sometimes it's just bc they did not grow up with parents that showed them how to balance a check book. How to save money and how to give to their community. It's always important to give to your community. That is the way I was raised. If you look at this in a postive way, He did try to take care of his family. He bought a home not only for his mother, but the mother of his child. He bought cars for his mother, again the mother of his child and his brother, or maybe even brothers. Yes, they are expensive cars, but he could afford them at the time. A doctor that drives a Range Rover would not be treated this way? Football players are right up there in salary as Doctors and Lawyers, and Engineers and other Professions. There are other professionals in the world driving nice cars and having nice things.
My mother is a school teacher and it is sad that she helps the lives of everyone that steps foot into her classroom. She teaches them so much more than history. I do get sick thinking about how much money a professional ball player makes. When I say ball, I mean any kind of ball: basketball,Football, soccer, baseball, golf, tennis, and even the puck pays well. Teachers on the other hand, don't. Did you know that in the state if Texas a first year teacher only makes $27,000.00 a year. Now, most teachers making a salary like that cannot afford to live alone. It really upsets me to think that any kind of professional ball player should make more than a high school teacher. Or any kind of teacher for that matter.
Yes, I took this opportunity to post my little soap box about teachers and ball players. Just as people posted about race and what our presidents did or did not do.
People make mistakes and the great thing about a mistake is you can learn from it. It can also be forgiven. God forgives. Some of you should let it go and forgive this man. Take the hate out of your heart, You are only hurting yourself. No one is perfect!
Christmas is only a few weeks away: Jesus is the Reason for the Season. I do not agree with what Vick did with the animals. But, it's certainly not my place to judge him. I love my dog and I cannot even imagine how he could do what he did. The only way I can look at it is: Drugs. They make people do things that normally would not do. I hope he was on something when he did this.
Happy Holidays and love to all. Many blessings today everyday! We need to stick together, not push each other down! I hope you help yourself get up and lend a hand to help someone esle!

The hypocrisy makes me sick. Michael Vick is no more guilty than Robert Brunette of Santa Cruz, California. Never heard of him? Of course not. He is not a Black man and has not signed an NFL contract. Animal control has found decapitated dog skulls, even decomposing canine bodies hanging from trees on Brunette’s property. Don’t believe me? Google 'Santa Cruz dog abuse' and read it for yourself. Brunette is a free man and will not be incarcerated like Michael Vick. What happens to one should happen to all.

Eric......... why must black people always throw the race card. Ignorance is ignorance no matter what color you are. As far as wanting him to get the death penalty..... hell yes he should get it, what he did to those poor dogs is beyond cruel. He should be put in a pen with dogs and let them tear him to pieces.
As far as oj is concerned he broke the law and he got away with double murder and all the blacks know it. Now he is paying for his IGNORANCE . Blacks get over it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To all the bleeding heart morons feeling sorry for Vick: how about trying to make a "mistake" like he did and see if your employer will give you a second chance? See if Vick will feel sorry for you?
Vick us a low life and never gave a dollar to help the dogs he tortured. And those who think the Pitt Bulls are vicious, ask Jarrod Cooper from the Raiders. He volunteers at his local animal shelter. He said "I always used to put the blame on the animals, I always thought that the animal has a bad attitude or that the dog is mean. But now I know that somebody did that to that animal."

It's sad and pathetic what happens to athletes like Vick. They make so much money through salary and endorsements - - and then they just go blow it all. I guess it's just a poor, black sub-culture that seems to say ::::::: this is what a brother should have if he strikes it rich:::: lots of cars, huge houses, fancy clothes and jewlery and lots of women to hang on their arm. The really rich, passed-down wealth in this country doesn't usually show up this way ...they don't feel the need for what they term, "ostentatious displays". Well, Vick is a gambler - - he's gambling he'll still be able to play this game again one day. As for the dog fighting - - I hope they get anyone associated with that inhumane and disgusting racket - another 160 dogs were rescued in E.Texas a few days ago - all part of the dog fight business. Put the operators AWAY for hard time!

Now if they can just to the same, to the rest of the cold hearted people who torture dogs for their amusement and profit.. Then they should start on the ones who abuse bulls at the bull fights. That is just as unnecessary.

This is my opinion on the whole thing...I am 100% for animal rights!! BUT, the Judge and jury of his peers decided what Michael Vick's punishment will be and that's all there is to it. If they had given him just 1 day in jail...well, that would be his sentence and there's nothing we can do about it. He did the crime...he's doing his time. I also thought he should "rot in jail." But in reality, there are much worse people than him walking the streets and talking to your/our children. He's broke and if he should get back into the NFL he'll be making barely anything. So, a once promising quarterback blew his career and every cent he had...it's not the 1st time and probably won't be the last. They will be watching him when he gets out...and while they are watching him thousands of perverts will walk the streets...

One of the aspects of "hard up" blacks is "image is everything to them" even when it can't be afforded. I deal with social services and see it every day. Some live worse than pigs but drive around in a "buy here pay here" Cadilac Escalades, Lexus, Lincoln Navigators etc.
Even if its a junk car they put $2000 monster wheels and tires on it. They get welfare, food stamps and utility assistance but rent big screen tv's at $75 a week. So with what I see daily about people like Vick without cash is just their effort to improve their outward image. Just like Vick who bought a $99k car for one day. Image. This behavior speaks loads about ones inner self.

Sure Vick was enrolled at Va Tech but did not receive an education. One can only imagine how many times he received a pass from Frank Beamer and others who valued him as a quarterback at any cost. He was used for one thing: to bring Tech's football program to the forefront. Beamer attempted to do the same with his loser brother a few years later but was forced to cut him because Marcus was worse than Michael. The elder Vick was recruited and then went pro before his "education" was completed anyway. Beamer should have been been sent packing along with these two bums. The Falcons should have cut Vick the day he flipped off Atlanta fans. Any NFL (or Arena) coach that even bothers to consider Vick when he gets out should be fired.
