Even though the Dallas seems to have survived a forgettable month of Brad Johnson and Brooks Bollinger and are now back in the playoff race, former Cowboys running back and ESPN wordsmith Emmitt Smith is still disappointed in the team that won 13 games last year. "Mediocre." ... "[I'm] disappointed because I saw this team being a lot better than it is," Smith said. "Chemistry has a lot to do with it. And for some reason, the chemistry of the Cowboys this year has been thrown off a little bit.Bottom line: there's something wrong with the gumbo. Smith is right, though, chemistry has been an issue; according to an unnamed PFW.com source, "a faction of the players that feels that Pacman Jones' presence could throw off the chemistry and positive swagger that the Cowboys have worked hard to regain."
"Either there's too much salt in the gumbo or not enough meat in the gumbo. Something's wrong. Whatever it is, they need to get it corrected. It's just been a blah kind of season for me."
Smith also points out that Dallas beating San Francisco and Seattle -- two teams they were supposed to beat -- is hardly reason to assume they've fixed the midseason problems. In fact, it sounds like he's still hung up on how a promising 2007 campaign ended so abruptly.
"My last memory of the Cowboys being absolutely physical was when they got hit in the mouth by the Washington Redskins last year. Then they turned around and got hit in the mouth again by the New York Giants [in the playoffs]. That's not a good memory."Wade Phillips agrees. We'll find out Sunday afternoon if Dallas' new gumbo recipe is any good; they travel to Pittsburgh to face a physical Steelers team in some pretty lousy conditions.

Emmitt, If you are really concerned about the Cowboys fate, You can Always do as Jr. Seau did. Anyway I like seeing you dancing on the gridiron as opposed to Dancing with the stars !!!
I meet this idiot once at the DoubleTree Hotel in Tallahassee.
Guy is the biggest douchebag ever. His wife in the other
hand was very nice.
Mediocre is Emmit Smith his last 4 seasons, trying to hold on long enough to break Payton's (never mediocre) record. Mediocre would be an improvement to Emmit's skills as an analyst/commentator. I lost respect for the rushing chump when he was intentionally baiting T.O. into saying something bad about his teammates during an interview. I think he is still angry he was released by the Cowboys. Does anyone remember him NOT snatching up every ball he ever scored a touchdown with? What's that about? Going to sell them, Emmit? Are you THAT good? ESPN, DUMP EMMIT!
Lol All of the salty cowboys fans on here. No playoffs for you this year. Steelers are gonna crush you with or without barber. How can Romo have one of the best O-lines in the league, but still have so many fumbles and interceptions?? I am not talking bad just because I am a skins fan but Jerry Jones is truely blind and he does not know how to put an actual TEAM together. Ya'll are not going to win a playoff game with a team of superstars. Just take notes on what the Giants are doing...I don't even know the names of they're corners but they are 11-1. Pac-man and T.O......Nah just get rid of the drama queens and celebrities and then maybe ya'll can actually build a superbowl team like the Giants did.

Well, well, wouldn't it be better to check the stats before spouting off nonsense? Try this on for size...
Romo fumbles 4
little ben 2
Romo ints. 8
little ben 12
Romo passer rating 103.2 1st in NFL
little ben 80.0 23rd in NFL
Romo sacked 8
little ben 33
Sounds like a darn good QB and offensive line to me and anyone with a modicum of intelligence. I would have included Campbell's stats also, but no one cares.
the cowboys are going to beat the brakes off the steelers ha ha the cowboys are playing some of the best football of any team steelers havent played nobody worth yelling about just watch them roll on sunday boys holla when the skins win a superbowl r just win
The cowboys will never win a playoff game (if They ever get that far again. how many more times do the cowboys have to be in close games just to see tony romo fumble or throw an interception. for the last 3 yrs this man has made dallas look like the three stooges in the last few minutes of the game. Romo is not the leader The cowboys need, Too many false hopes with him around.
Tony(Poor Baby) Romo,I want to go where it is warm,he is the most over rated QB in the NFL,sure proved it today.
Watching the NFL network Deion Sanders hit the nail on the head. You cannot count on tony romo in crunch time, he cannot handle pressure. He cannot lead the Cowboys to victory. On draft day they better draft a good Quarter back and put some heat on romo.
