Though nationally there wasn't much interest in two 4-7 teams playing each other, in Houston, Reliant Stadium was packed to watch the city's first Monday Night Football game in 14 years.
I guess they both saw this as a statement game. Slaton was angry that NFL teams saw him as only a third-down back, which allowed him to slip to the third round of the draft. Williams mentioned in the post game interviews that he took exception to Ron Jaworski's pregame comments to the Houston Chronicle suggesting that the defensive end was not a dominant player.
Williams accounts for over 50 percent of the Texans sack total, and currently has the highest sack total for defensive ends in the AFC at 11.
The Jaguars look like a mess. Of course, they have many key injuries, but their receivers group looks like garbage, and their defense is no longer good enough to allow them to have bad offensive days. Most of their offense came when the Texans were playing prevent defense, which Houston is unaccustomed to doing and does pretty poorly.
There's a ton of problems for this Jacksonville team, and you have to wonder about their future given their locker room dynamics, and the shaky attendance for a bad Jag team in a small market during poor financial times.
The Texans are now 7-2 when they host their Battle Red Day where they wear their all red uniforms. The Kool-Aid Man, when ask to comment what he thought about the unis, just said "Oh yeah."
