During Falcons-Chargers Game, Mike Carey Had a Senior Moment, Got Trampled

Mike Carey is probably the best referee in the NFL, but he had a bad day during Sunday's Falcons-Chargers game:

That was Carey, first taking his sweet old time before turning on his microphone to announce the penalties on the previous play, and then forgetting, while he was talking, what the second penalty was.

Matt Ryan appears to really push Carey down. Did Matt Ryan forget to wear his glasses and not recognize the zebra stripes?

I saw that entire game. At first I recognized the referee, but as he blew penalty explanation after explanation, I decided I was mistaken and this was a rookie referee doing his first penalty calls. Talk about a bad day! This guy blew it every single time he had to speak. I'm shocked to find out that he has been the referee in Super Bowls!

If this were his first game, it would certainly be his last. I backed up my DVR more times to laugh at him than to watch Matt Ryan's touchdown passes!

Oh yeah, the officials blew that "fumble" by Finneran. Ryan should have ducked a shoulder when he took out Carey!

These highlights are nothing compared the horrible officiating that went on the whole game. I've never seen a team win with the referees seemingly against them so much.
