Drew Rosenhaus just gave a very bizarre (although mostly scripted interview) at halftime of Monday Night Football. Obviously, he did this because he is Plaxico Burress' agent and he was trying to do some quick media scrambling on Plax's behalf in the most public of situations.Honestly, he didn't say much, but three things stood out. First, he deigned to compare being Sean Taylor's agent to representing Burress ... and somehow thinking that the two items compare. Secondly, he told Tony Kornheiser, who did a nice job of questioning R-Haus on the set, he could "privately" discuss why Plax had a gun on his person at the club, but couldn't talk about it publicly for legal reasons, which is just beyond stupid/ridiculous.
And finally, he said that the Giants weren't concerned about football. Just Burress' health. I'm going to go ahead an call BS on all three of those.
For starters, Drew, don't do America and your late client and revered Redskin the disservice of comparing Burress idiotically carrying a loaded and unsafetyed gun into a nightclub with Sean Taylor being freaking murdered. Seriously, that's screwed up. Like, really screwed up.
Next, why on Earth would you tell Mr. Tony, a tremendously public member of the media, why Plax was carrying a gun, or even promise to tell him? And yes, this is less important, but still, it seems really ridiculous.
And finally, you want us to believe that the Giants, who watched Burress casually stroll into the New York City police station today, are totally unconcerned with his contract or performance on the field? Sure, that's sounds nice in principle, but come on, man. It might be Monday and we might be used to tuning out talking points in the ESPN booth at this point, but at least be reasonable with your discussions of things that involve logic and common sense.
Oh, and if you don't mind, refrain from insulting dead people with shoddy analogies when the only common threads between the two situations being compared are: football and you.

Sorry guys how about them redskins offensive line, something has to be done. Clinton Portis is banged up because of this lousy offensive line, Soon enough, Jason Campbell will get knocked down and wouldn't get up, What a shame! Something keeps telling me that the redskins turned deadskins since the arrival of Jon Jensen in the offensive line. Just look at the record.

Actually, I bet when Rosenhaus said he could discuss some things privately with them that he was wanting to tell them how much of a moron Plax is. Think about it, he can't publicly demean a client, but he knows how stupid this whole situation is, and it's going to cost him a ton of money. He has to be angry, but can't let on that he is, with the risk that he'll lose clients. I just think he was practicing good business, all the while hiding his contempt for the lost dollars and obvious idiocy.

Yes, Burress is truly a moron of epic proportions. It's bad enough he has no concept of how to safely store a gun, but he then lies like some little kid to cover up his own bizarre behavior! He likely faces a minimum of 3 years in prison, and millions in lost salarly, AND he manages to shoot himself in the leg in the process! BRILLIANT! This ranks up there with Iron Mike "the cannibal" Tyson's carnivorous appitite for opponent's flesh. At least Tyson fought brutally in a brutal sport. Burress catches maybe 6-8 passes a game, and for that gets paid (well, got paid) millions! With that kind of money he could have had his own mini-army of bodyguards legally carrying guns. Somehow I think when the truth comes out about his motives for carrying a loaded, unsaftied and cocked gun, in his lap, we will realize what a nut this guy actually is, and, once again, ponder why and how millions are paid to someone with little or no regard to the character, maturity, or intelligence of someone who catches a few balls each Sunday!

I have been a fan of Burress since he was with the Steelers, and I am very disappointed in him. Doesn't he know our children look up to him as a role model? If he wants to be a gangsta, perhaps he should retire from football and pursue a career in rap!

2. It was on his person
3. he was in 'da club
4. he was shot with said gun

I'm glad someone else was appalled that Rosenhaus brought up Sean Taylor TWICE. There's a big difference. Taylor was with his family at home, minding his own business, and was murdered in cold blood. Plax played with a gun while drinking and accidentally shot himself. There is absolutely no comparison, and it's a disgrace to even suggest an equivalence.

Yet another example of why no one should make this kind of money for playing a sport, I swear it just clouds the decision making part of the brain. I just cannot believe that a person of this kind of character should be making that kind of money for what he does but, then again he can run and catch a football. We should all be embarrassed that this is the kind of individual that is in the public eye, viewed by young kid's as a role model. Just what I always wanted my kid's to believe that carrying and brandishing a gun in a club is appropriate and should be tolerated. This guy deserves to go to jail and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law just because he tried and failed to get away with a crime. WHAT AN IDIOT!!!

What Plax did was bizarre, so maybe Rosenhaus gets a pass for a bizarre response. Or maybe just a half-pass.
Right now, the burning question is, when will the indictment be handed up? And will Burress have to serve 3-1/2 years?
I wonder how big an issue Plax's attorney is going to make, about the Mayor running his mouth about the case. Could be entertaining....
