Near the end of last week's Patriots-Dolphins tilt, and after the game had pretty much been decided, Miami's Channing Crowder and New England's Matt Light shared a moment. Specifically, Light tried to yank out Crowder's weave while Crowder did his best to get away.
Ultimately, both players were fined $15,000 because, as everybody knows, pulling hair is just as offensive as having your hair pulled. And even though Crowder and Channing were the only players taking part in the extracurriculars, we learn that the NFL has subsequently fined Joey Porter. No idea if he did anything wrong, but it's probably safe to assume that he was guilty of something. Actually, his gum-flapping incited the whole melee. From the Miami Herald (courtesy of MDS at PFT):
The league hit Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter with a $7,500 fine for unsportsmanlike conduct during the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the Patriots. Porter was fined specifically for verbally abusing the opponent after the play was over.On Monday Pats guard Logan Mankins dutifully pointed the finger at Porter for turning Light from Bruce Banner into a hair-pulling Hulk, and the league office has responded by fining Mr. Peezy $7,500.
Porter was penalized twice in the fourth quarter, once for unnecessary roughness and again for unnecessary roughness. Players had been warned by referees as tempers began to flare that inappropriate behavior would be punished.
To summarize: the NFL Gestapo continues their assault on civil liberties, and trash-talking has gone the way of dancing, tackling and, oddly enough, mascots. Next up: punishing players for their naughty thoughts.

Typical Porter. All mouth....little action. He was basically a no-show for the game. If you are going to shoot your mouth of Joey.......... BACK IT UP!

Well, I'm reasonably sure Porter couldn't cover Randy Moss and company, so that would make him only a secondary (no pun intended) reason why Matt Cassel torched the Dolphins for 400+ yards through the air on Sunday.
And as for backing it up...did you look at any other games featuring Joey Porter besides this one? Dude has 14.5 sacks on the year. So, for the sake of objectivity, get your head out of your backside.

Pay attention to the comment now A.J. I said "He was basically a no-show for the game." No mention of what he did in other games this year or what he did 2 years ago but what he did the last game against the Pat's. And if you watched the game you would know what he did....not much of anything. He was pushed around most of the game by the Pat's "O" line.

Obviously from the way this article was written, Ryan Wilson is anti-Patriots. There was a picture in the paper of Matt Light tattooing Channing Crowder with his fists in Crowders head. Yes, I'm sure Crowder was trying to run away. Another thing, when the Patriots were upset by the Dolphins in Foxboro, 37-13, there was no trash-talking by the Patriots. Afterward, they admitted they played poorly and were beaten. During and after this game in Miami, some of the Miami players were trash-talking. They do not have the class and grace of champions like the Patriots, because the Dolphins are not and nowhere near champions! So they don't act like one! I will say though that Vonnie Holliday and another Dolphin acted gracefully by criticizing the behavior of some other Dolphins, and Chad Pennington was also graceful. Those Dolphins have class.

Ryan, I'll pay your co-pay if you schedule a visit with a therapist to get over your hatred of and bias against the Patriots.

No way the NFL or the team should fine Porter. What,...now players can't talk on the field??? Every man has to take responsibility for his own actions as Matt Light should. Whats next???? If Matt Light is so weak that someone can tell him what to do then he is a BIT** and should not be in the league. What kind of message is the NFL sending to the youth by fining a player for trash talking? Trash talking is part of competition and the only people that can't take trash talking are the weak minded PU***'s that shouldn't be in a competition. In sports and in LIFE people have to be mentally tough. Joey Porter is a Beast and can play on my team anyday. I love players that Bing it and no they can Bring it!!!!
