Remember what I said a few hours ago about an athlete visiting Dr. Andrews is sorta like Joe Six-Pack minding his own business only to see the "Faces of Death" truck pull up? Brady Quinn had an appointment with the good doctor today and, well, prognosis negative.
According to FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer, Quinn's 2008 season is over.
... Quinn is done for the year after doctors revealed that the break to his right index finger has gotten worse since he's tried to play through the injury, sources told FOXSports.com.Yeah, that sucks. It would've been nice for Quinn to finish out the year, get some experience, and give the front office an idea of what they had to work with heading into the offseason. Instead, Derek Anderson (Sparky!) will get a chance to re-redeem himself. Given how he performed last week, I don't expect much will change.
Team sources said that Quinn and the team made the decision together earlier today. Sources say that not only has the break in his right index finger worsened, but it is also starting to injure the tendons as well.
As for Quinn, here's a question probably worth asking head coach Romeo Crennel: why would you let a guy with a broken index finger on his throwing hand even take the field, especially given that he could do enough damage to prematurely end his season? Surely the medical staff knew that there was a chance the injury could get worse, right? Or maybe they were preoccupied battling the latest staph infection outbreak.
Whatever, the Browns will likely be overhauled this offseason; general manager Phil Savage, Crennel and Anderson could all be elsewhere in 2009, and if there's a God in heaven, the team will make sure they're never again in the position to have to start Brandon McDonald.
On the bright side, Cleveland's new (old) starting quarterback did go to the Pro Bowl last February. Hmm...

Yeah, another dumb management decision - Crennel could have avoided the criticism he received for switching qb's during the game against the Texans by simply acknowledging the seriousness of Quinn's injury and putting him on the DL. On the other hand, if playing the injured starter was a decision that came down from Savage, it should serve as one more nail in his coffin.

I remember back to the days when HATING the Browns was worth the effort..... then they got stolen and sent to Ballsnomore. Now they are just another NFL expansion team. I really miss the old Browns. As a member of the STEELER NATION , I want the people of Cleveland to bitch and moan until they get thier team back to being competetive. The fans deserve it....just don't tell them I said so. I do have a reputation to uphold.

The Browns need to cut the whole defensive team encluding Braylon Edwards and Kevin Winslow.
Poor tackling.
Poor catching
Poor coaching
Poor management
Maybe the Brown should to find Marty and bring him back. His player played a lot smarter.

Romeo,Savage,Winslow and Edwards and McDonald should all go. Instead of plaing games with the Qtr.Backs they should get players that can catch the ball. There defensive backfield is one of the worst i have seen.
