A guy plays like crap for a month straight, acknowledges he didn't know an NFL game could end in a tie, and the next thing you know, EVERYBODY wants to run him out of town.
Actually, Philly's love-hate relationship with Donovan McNabb is going on 10 years now, but the Eagles' quarterback's latest admission, coupled with some Koy Detmer-inspired quartbackin' has led to this: the fans have seen enough. They've seen enough of McNabb, and they've definitely seen enough of head coach Andy Reid.
No idea what the future holds for either, but NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that McNabb shouldn't have any trouble finding work, and the Eagles might already have a candidate in mind should Reid get the Richie Kotite treatment.
There are people around the league who believe that Chicago and Minnesota did not make a move at the quarterback position last year with the idea that ... McNabb could be available this upcoming offseason. If the Eagles were to trade McNabb, they would lop off $9.2 million off their books, a big salary cap savings, so McNabb is in play this offseason. That's great news for Chicago or Minnesota ... except that they could be haggling over an over-the-hill quarterback. Plus, what does that say about what the expectations were for the 2008 season? Luckily, it looks like the Bears have their QB of the future in Kyle Orton, but the Vikings will be holding open tryouts the day after the season ends.
Andy Reid is giving zero percent chance of walking away; he will not go anywhere. If the move is to be made there, it will come from the Eagles, and if they make a move it will be because they feel like they have a home run candidate. Keep your eye -- if they make a move -- on the New York Giants' defensive coordinator Steve Spaguolo who used to coach in Philadelphia.
As for the Eagles, Kevin Kolb is next in line after McNabb. The biggest question facing him -- assuming he gets the gig in '09 -- is who will be coaching him up.

This only adds fuel to my past complaints. McNabb+Reid must go ! Let Johnson finish the season out. I think Jim will surprise more then a few of you ! Banner can bring in a few new offense coachs. My Eagle roots go way back far enough to make these comments. I remember the 1960 Championship like it was last Sunday. I'd like to see one more before I go !

lurie won't spend any money to get experienced backups!
who is the leader on that team? nobody!!that's why they stink!

When your choices at quarterback are Kyle Orton or Rex Grossman, I'd take a Donavan McNabb in a heart beat!!

Minnesota needs a Mcnabb. They should have Favre but the rival would never have it!
