USDA Report Reveals Michael Vick Put 'Family Dogs' Into Pit Bull Rings

With former Atlanta Falcon Michael Vick facing charges from Virginia over his dogfighting operation, more details are coming out about what went on at his home.

According to a report filed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Vick would put "family pet" dogs into fighting rings with pit bulls just to watch them get mauled, destroyed or killed.

The report, dated Aug. 28, 2008, says "Vick, (Purnell) Peace and (Quanis) Phillips thought it was funny to watch the pit bull dogs belonging to Bad Newz Kennels injure or kill the other dogs." The report has names and phrases redacted in order to protect the anonymity of certain individuals who cooperated with investigators.

The 17-page report also stated that Vick was directly involved in hanging and drowning dogs that they deemed not fight to fight. The report says that somebody was paid $100 to dig two graves for the dog carcasses and Vick, Peace and Phillips buried them.

Vick, who is serving 23 month sentence in a federal prison in Kansas, has already reached a plea deal with Virginia that will result in a three-year suspended prison sentence and a $2,500 fine.

As a dog lover, everything about this Vick thing has me disturbed. It disgusts me that anyone could do any of this to pit bulls, let alone normal family dogs. It physically makes me sick.

It also disgusts me that when Vick finally gets out and finishes off whatever suspension the NFL gives him, someone will give him a job as an NFL quarterback.

I agree with the writer of this article. These are the actions of a sick individual who has no remorse or compassion for anything except money. This sick F@#$ needs to be banned from the NFL for life and be forced to take a real job to pay off his millions he owes to Banks and whoever else.

It is interesting to note how horrible these actions are, yet some would still say that this is nothing, or that its a part of a 'culture' with some people. Well hate and descrimination are also cultural creations, and no sane person tries to argue those merits.

This is bullshit piling on. The USDA waits until NOW to release such a report? The man has plead guilty, and has received his punishment. This is supposed to be a country contrition not retribution. Mike killed dogs, I get it, it was a bad thing, he has gone to jail. That's it its done. People who abuse animals,children or the elderly should not be in a position where they are seen as role models, heroes or Superstars by young people.

Let him come out of Prison and prove that he`s changed his ways.
He went to Prison ONLY because he was caught and turned on by his buddies.
He`s not there because he changed his attitude and turned himself into the Authorities.

Dog Fighting is all about your attitude towards the weak and vulnerable in Society.
I doubt that the short time he spent in Prison gave him an attitude adjustment.

If he`s allowed back into the NFL that tells me that they condone Dog Fighting and animal abuse.
We all know he`s just the tip of the iceberg.
The ones who haven`t been caught yet need to understand that you don`t get 2nd chances in the NFL.

Let Vick find another line of work....perhaps cleaning dog kennels or going on a speaking Tour (with Whoopi Goldberg) about the evils of abusing the innocent(just because you can)

I love dogs, even have one, what he did was despicable, but in this society, even murders who so called "life sentences" are shortened. He deserves, if he can keep it together, another chance. I just think that with all this hype shit gets blown out of proportion, let's keep it real can we?

Would that be similar to what the Media does to these dogs on a regular basis?
Only difference is they`re abused and exploited by humans and have no choice in the matter.

Vick had a choice.
He needs to get a real job when he gets out.
Maybe if he doesn`t have millions to throw around he`ll pick another "hobby" that doesn`t involve animal abuse.
He blew it.

I`m sure there are decent young people coming up through the ranks who are every bit as talented as he was.
