You can tell he has it in him. Any man that big who acts like a teddy bear most of the time surely has some innate ability to let loose like a ferocious grizzly. This week, Andy Reid did just that to his Eagles, in a morning meeting. Reid lit into the team Wednesday at the morning meeting and let everyone know that not only was the season on the line, there were jobs on the line. "I guess he felt his normal mild-mannered self wasn't working," linebacker Omar Gaither said. "With Coach Reid, when the volume goes up and he starts turning red, you start paying a little more attention."I've experienced stuff like this before. Coaches who rarely yell get a huge reaction when they do. It's like, "wow, he's really pissed at us," and then you want to make that anger disappear by performing better. On the flipside, when you have some maniac yelling at you every single play, you learn to just stop listening and nothing he says carries value anymore.
So, yeah, I think Reid got the attention of his players.
Will it really help, though? These guys are professional athletes who shouldn't need an extra nudge to go out and do their job. Well, the players seem to have responded internally. Reports state that Brian Dawkins led a players-only closed-door meeting immediately following Reid's tirade.
"Any time you go out and have a tie with a 1-8 team, he's not going to be happy about it," safety Quintin Mikell said. "That's what we need [to hear]. We need to get back to playing football and stop worrying about the B.S. that we can't control. Just play football. Sometimes you've just got to say what's on your mind, and he did that."It does sound like the players will respond positively, but they have a tall order this weekend when they visit the Ravens in Baltimore. I'll tell you this, if I was a player on the team, I'd step it up. You don't want to see the temper tantrum capabilities a man of Reid's stature possesses.
"I think the message was received," running back Brian Westbrook said.

Yea...It could be next to embarassing to only tie a football team that's 1-8...a team that's been losing by considerable margins to other teams, then not only does your team tie with them, you tie at a low score of 13-13...On the only hand teams seem to have the tendancy to come to the conclusion of...If their season is over with no playoff in the future, then they'll be damned if you think you're going to see the playoffs...so they dig deep down and find your "number" and before you know anything, your team is at home watching the playoffs also...Laughing.

Too little, too late. I'm glad to see he finally quit coddling these guys, especially Donovan "I didn't know it could end in a tie" Mcnabb. I've been a loyal Reid supporter for his years here in Philly, but there comes a time when a team needs to be restructured and needs new blood to get to another level. I think that time has come, and the Eagles either need a new QB, new coach, or both.

Andy Reid mad? Thats nonsense that fat ass always stands in the sideline with this stupid look on hes face. Im not a Reid supporter by no means. Any time a play is good, bad or there is a blown call he always has a clueless look covering hes face with hes suppposed playbook that looks like a menu from a diner. I think its a lil late with a 5-4-1 and record to say your not happy with the teams play. That should have been done after we lost against the pathetic Bears.

I've always been a supporter of McNabb, but now I do believe it is time to give Kolb the ball. The Eagles are not going anywhere this season. Now it looks like a winning record of 9-7 may be too much to ask. Let's prepare for next season by giving the future QB the ball NOW. As a resident of DE and a graduate of the U of DE I am happy to see Flaco doing well. At least reading about the Ravens puts a smile on my face.
