Whomever the Republicans want to run against Barack Obama in 2012 needs to call the Redskins' marketing department for some help. They can really get the voters to the polls.
If only we all could vote for out presidents online.
Because of an aggressive campaign, the Redskins have managed to get 21 of their players as the top positional vote-getters in Pro Bowl voting. The Redskins have leaders in 16 of the 19 positions.
Right now, eight of the 11 starters on offense and nine of the 11 starters on defense would be Redskins. All four special teams positions are led by Redskins -- including punter Ryan Plackemeier, who joined the team midseason. Shawn Springs is the leading vote-getter at cornerback even though he hasn't played but half the season.
Fullback Mike Sellers has nearly 33% of the total votes for his position and could be a shoo-in to win. Rookie safety Chris Horton has a 206% lead over second place. The fan voting accounts for one-third of the overall tally and it isn't known if the coaches vote or players vote would be enough to knock all of them out.
Clinton Portis trails only Drew Brees in overall voting and should be in the Pro Bowl. You can argue that Sellers, Chris Cooley and Santana Moss should also be there. Guys like Andre Carter (who is second to Justin Tuck in voting for defensive ends) don't.
The Redskins have used a variety of means to get the word out, including having Hall of Famers Sam Huff and Sonny Jurgensen in internet ads asking for your vote. It has been so successful that the NFL sent an e-mail to all 32 teams to highlight what the Redskins have done.
"As it stands right now, the Redskins are leading the NFC ballots in 16 of 19 positions," said the e-mail, a copy of which was provided to The Associated Press. "It's no surprise, given that they have been promoting this all season long. ... This would be a great weekend to promote Pro Bowl voting to your fans. Let me know if you need any ideas or support from the league (or the Redskins) in this important initiative."
This, of course, raises the question of whether fans should be allowed to vote for these teams. My opinion is "yes" since the game is for the fans ... and the fact that I think the NFL Pro Bowl should just go away. Yes, is screws with the deserving players who won't go to the Pro Bowl by not reaching bonuses in their contracts. No, it isn't fair. But that is what you get when you decide to involve the fans in these matters.
Here is the list of Redskins who are in line for a Pro Bowl spot: Clinton Portis; Santana Moss; Mike Sellers; Chris Cooley; Casey Rabach; Pete Kendall; Randy Thomas; Chris Samuels; Andre Carter; Cornelius Griffin; Kedric Golston; Jason Taylor; London Fletcher; Shawn Springs; Carlos Rogers; Chris Horton; LaRon Landry; Ryan Plackemeier; Shaun Suisham; Rock Cartwright; Khary Campbell.

This is becoming a problem first the NHL with ballot stuffing because of a thing online that can allow you to vote over and over again..now its even worse in the NFL 20 Redskins in the pro bowl. I knew the pro bowl is a joke but, if this stands it will become even worse.

Hell yeah they deserve it, we have many players having a pro bowl season. Of course Portis, Moss, Cooley, and Fletcher. Horton, Rogers, Sellers, Campbell, and a few others are also deserving. Make your reservations now, we going to the pro bowl. We're gonna be all over it.

I'm a REDSKINS fan, but i have to say most of these guys don't deserve to be in the pro-bowl. As a fan of the Redskins, the players that i think do deserve to be in the pro-bowl are Clinton Portis, Chris Cooley, Santana Moss, Mike Sellers (maybe), Chris Horton, London Fletcher. I don't believe i saw Jason Campbell's name, which is good because he's the reason our offense sucks. Does he not get the concept of throwing the ball away rather than taking a SACK. I'd put Colt Brennan to the pro-bowl before Jason Campbell. Did someone actually nominate Carlos Rogers? Isn't he another reason we've got 4 losses because he can't catch a freakin ball, he's gettin paid too much to NOT BE ABLE TO INTERCEPT A BALL. WOW... do i see Pete Kendall being nominated to the pro-bowl?... Isn't he the same Idiot that thought he could score when he caught the deflection against the RAMS and then fumbled it. Didn't we (the Redskins) LOSE that freakin game? How is he deservant of the pro-bowl? Chris Samuels? he makes the pro-bowl because of his size every year, but as big as he is why does he get so many holding penalties? Also, is he deaf...i think he has had the most False Start Penalties as well.

cmon now, campbell has played very well this year aside from 1 or 2 games. he might not be flashy like a drew brees, but he's also holding onto the ball and doing a great job of managing the game. not to mention, the nfc isnt exactly filled with great qbs right now. i would say its a combination of brees, warner, manning, and campbell at the top. if you are looking at why we lose games, look at our inability to protect the qb on offense and the fact that our defensive line gets dominated at the line of scrimmage every week, especially in the 4th quarter, which was quite apparent last week. as far as carlos rogers, i agree we would all like to see him make even one of those picks, but you still can't deny that he is having a great year. with springs being out he has stepped up huge. he might not make "the big play", but then again elite corners are rarely forced to. his coverage overall has been as good as just about any corner in the league.

Shows you how much the fans are disappointed with the No Fun League, or some one has figured a way to rig the voting. This has happen before. The way the internet hackers are nowdays. If they can hack the Goernment computoers they sure can get by the NFL's security. Myself I don't care anymore. I am on a low fixed income. The Not Free League has taken Monday night football and Thrusday Night from me. I can'get cable or Satellite. Roger Goodell is not for the fans, or the players. He is a money hungery SOB.

im a washington redskins fan and you two must be on a different planet. we only have a few pro bowlers and they are clinton portis santana moss mike sellers london fletcher and carlos rogers maybe chris horton.
i mean jason campbell has done nothing to deserve the pro bowl but lose games. its funny how you thing carlos doesnt deserve it i bet u dont no hes second in the nfl in passes defended thats pro bowl material. clinton obviously deserves it hes having a great year. sellers does a lot for a fullback and i think he deserves to go. london fletcher should have been a pro bowler years ago he really deserves it.
and all the others havent done very much i mean shawn springs hasnt played hardly. and some of them play poorly and its aggravating that they would get voted to the pro bowl.
and flozell adams has the most false starts and most penelties out of all the linemen in the league.

Fletcher, Rogers, Horton i feel are def. going to the pro bowl as far as offense cooley, portis, moss, samuels, sellers are for going!

I was hoping we would jack up the votes for London Flectcher who is quite clearly the most deserving player to never reach a pro bowl- the man single handedly took our defense from 31st to top ten last year and is a TREMENDOUS leader and human being. That said, I honestly think fan voting should be completely eliminated... last year the Cowboys fans dominated and this year (not surprisingly) the Redskins have responded in kind... I mean COME ON, Plackemeier? REALLY? He just joined the freaking team mid season!

RB-Clinton Portis-Deserves to be there
WR-Santana Moss-Good RAC receiver when healthy; drops too many critical passes that cost games. You need to catch 3rd down passes to keep drives alive.
FB-Mike Sellers-Deserves to be there. Punishing blocker/good short down back/great hands for a big man to
catch flat passes.
TE-Chris Cooley-Good clutch receiver. Hard to bring down when he gets the ball. Should be a larger part of the offense since they don't have good enough pass protection to get the ball downfield to their WRs on most occasions. Also, an excellent blocker for a TE that catches alot of passes. Deserves to be there.
C-Casey Rabach: Borderline. Great against 4-3 defenses; however, has troubles against 3-4. Often gets pushed into the backfield blowing up plays when nose tackle lines up over him.
G-Pete Kendall-Had one bone headed play; otherwise has had a stellar season. When you want yardage, run left. Also, good in pass protection. Borderline.
G-Randy Thomas-Fair one-on-one run blocker; Fair against pass rush; Excellent pull-blocking. Should not be a Pro-bowler based on performance to date.
T-Chris Samuels: At this point going on reputation. Better than average run blocker; however, gets beat on the pass rush by quicker DEs on a more frequent basis. Perhaps because of bad knee.
DE-Andre Carter-Little to no run-stopping ability. Does this guy have any sacks? 1, maybe 2. Are you kidding me? No way is this guy a pro bowler.
DT-Cornelius Griffin-Deserving. This guy stuffs the run and blows up pockets. Unfortunately, the lack of an outside pass rush makes his workmanlike efforts futile.
DT-Kedric Golston-Maybe next year (or the year after). Too many critical mistakes that can't be seen by the average fan.
DE-Jason Taylor-No way this guy deserves to go. While his recovery from the thigh injury has been laudable, he has not provided the pass rush envisioned. And reputation should not garner a Pro-bowl appearance...it should be earned.
ILB-London Fletcher-Definitely should be there. Soul of the #4 defense in the league. Great against the run and pass. Overachiever.
CB-Shawn Springs-Why? Has he played in any games the second half of the first half of the season? If he's a pro-bowler why did we bring in DeAngelo Hall? Maybe b/c we can't depend on him being on the field??? Heck, DeAngelo Hall's been on the team one game and he's just as deserving as Springs...and he has more interceptions (1).
CB-Carlos Rogers-Great cover guy; however, to be an elite CB he needs to get interceptions to stop drives completely. The drop against Pittsburgh could have changed the outcome of that game. If he catches that pass, it's 13-3 Redskins. Pittsburgh may have changed it's offensive approach. Instead, Pittsburgh continued its drive and scored. Not deserving Pro-bowl this year. Maybe when he learns to catch a football.
SS-Chris Horton-This guy is a machine. Might be Rookie of the Year. Too bad there are so many other great rookies out there this year that were taken higher in the draft. Great tackler, and good in man coverage; however, has had some breakdowns in zone...maybe next Year. He's probably 4th-5th best strong safety in NFC at this point.
FS-LaRon Landry-Great in run support; Fair to Midling in Pass Support...maybe next year.
P-Ryan Plackemeier-This guy is near the bottom in Net Punting average. No way.
K-Shaun Suisham-Borderline. Misses too many critical kicks.
KR-Rock Cartwright-Makes too many boneheaded plays and stupid penalties. Most recent example...last game against Dallas when a punt could have been downed on the 1. Instead of simply picking a ball that was about to die by itself, he dives on it, tosses it back to another player who wasn't expecting it to be dived on.
ST-Khary Campbell-Nope.
Great to see that Jason Campbell isn't here. Not sure why everyone is so enamored with this 5th year QB who has never led the Redskins to the playoffs. Makes too many boneheaded plays, is not accurate, and is not an on-field leader (although I'm sure some of the players would naturally come to his defense and claim he is; however, I think the offense is lacking any real leadership which is why they are so stagnant...who gets them fired up? It isn't Clinton, he's more of a in-the-moment kind of guy. At 18.1 points per game, they are middle of the pack at best. Teams that score 17 or below tend to have losing records. And we have been going up against the 2 weakest divisions in football (NFC West and AFC Central). Todd Collins should be the QB until we can draft/obtain a starter. Campbell is a utility QB at best in the vein of Byron Leftwich/Rex Grossman.

Everything Stang said was awesome!!Except the part aout Campbell..Jason done Great this year and continues to get better, coach Z has to find a way to get our Pass blocking better...Your can't expect Campbell to have Drew Brees type numbers when we're using the west coast offense..Just think what he could do if he had decent pass protection!!

Wow, Redskins fans are making the others look bad. There are many players deserving a Pro Bowl spot on the Redskins but two that are not would be Jason Taylor and Andre Carter. Ones that better or I will sue are London Fletcher, Mike Sellers and Chris Horton. Seriously Skins' fans, did you really think someone even in the bordering galaxy of the late Sean Taylor would show up so soon and in the seventh round?! That is rather crazy though, 21 players? lol

take a look at mcnabb.he is tanking certain games.watch him carefully. in crucial times in the game he always throws a pick, or a fumble.how many times can a qb throw the ball into the ground. ten times this year he messed up the game so bad. keep your eyes open you will notice it. thank you.
