A couple days ago Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter shared his thoughts about the 2007 Patriots, an outfit that has been accused of everything from drowning baby kittens to illegally videotaping opponents. In recalling the awfulness that was last season, Porter is still upset that, in the waning minutes of a sure-to-be Patriots win, Bill Belichick opted to run the ball three times instead of instructing Tom Brady to take a knee (you know, back when he had a good one).
"They could've kneed the ball. We couldn't win the game," he recalled Monday. "They were up by 21 and they still were running running plays. I'm looking at (Tom) Brady, thinking he's going to take a knee and the game's over. But they continued to run ..."Seems innocuous enough; I mean, New England did run the ball. Belichick has been blamed for just about everything, including running up the score, but good Lord, man, it's professional football.
"I don't forget things like that. I hope our whole defense, our whole team, doesn't forget things like that."
It's one thing to bellyache about the teams' first meeting last season; Brady threw five first-half touchdowns and the Pats were leading 42-7 at intermission. But to complain because New England ran the ball at the end of the game? That seems like a stretch, even for Mr. Peezy.
Whatever, the Patriots players, in true Belichickian fashion, are predictably quiet on Porter's comments. And those who are talking, are very laudatory about the whole thing.
"I don't know, but if you've got 13 1/2 sacks in 10 games, you can pretty much say whatever you want in this league and get away with it," said Evans. "Until we do something about him, he's earned the right to say what he wants to say. They're 1-0 against us this year."Before the two teams met up earlier this season -- a game in which Ronnie Brown and the Wildcat humiliated New England at home -- Porter announced that "I know [Matt Cassel] is not a Tom Brady, so if it's not Tom Brady, it shouldn't be that hard." At the time, we all just dismissed him as a gum-flapping has-been. Turns out, he was right. And he's currently the NFL sack leader.
This doesn't make his recent comments any less absurd, but, unlike a year ago, he's not quite so easy to dismiss. Okay, that's a joke; it's still pretty easy to just write Porter off as a crackpot.

Absurd! Spoken by someone who has never played football obviously. There is a lot of emotion left out on that field.

Gosh, it's past some of your bedtimes.
Still on the "Bellicheat " stuff? Boy, that originality is really refreshing!
I like Joey Porter. He often backs his smack. Good for him. like Rodney harrison, he seems to always find a way to get himself motivated.
No harm, no fowl. Leave it all on the field. Enjoy the game. Nothing lasts forever, and as a Pats fan, I have enjoyed the ride, but now the ride may be over. Whatever the case, it's good to see the Dolphins, the Jets, and especially the Titans make life interesting in the NFL.

I think its just a conspiracy. The 07 Pats could kick anyones azz any day of the week!!!d And Porter needs to get over it. They had their butts handed to them. Big deal, now NE is suffering with my Brady out but thats the game. We are still a dang good Football team. We just relied waaaaaaaay too much on Brady and carrying , and our team with his talents, accuracy, and consistency throwing the ball. We still have some great players and we will be fine. It was a heck of a blow to loose Brady but we will recover. We are too dang good.
