If you're ever going to be the toughest player in the NFL, you'll have to take that title from Ray Lewis and the Ravens defense. And Brandon Jacobs just did that. The rabid running back has been pummeling defenses all season, and did more of the same against the Ravens defense. Jacobs had 73 yards and two touchdowns in the first half, and would have surely broke the Ravens' streak of 28 straight games without a 100-yard rusher if Tom Coughlin hadn't pulled him after two plays in the second half.
The guy gets a lot of praise, and while it seems a little over the top at times, he really can't be tackled when he's running at defenders; Lewis be damned, the guy is going to gain a large chunk of yardage.
In Jacobs' place for the second half, Ahmad Bradshaw almost did what Jacobs could not, running for 96 yards on just nine carries. The Giants rushed for 207 yards, the first time the Ravens have given up 200 yards or more rushing since October 5, 1997, when names like Jerome Bettis and Kordell Stewart owned the ground.
Joe Flacco didn't help the cause for the Ravens. After four straight games, all wins, without an interception, Flacco had two, both by Aaron Ross, who returned one tipped ball 60 yards for the score.
The Giants made it known that they will not quit, will not roll over, and can bring it game in and game out. Once a club that leaned on Eli Manning to make plays happen, the Giants can now run the ball at will, as seen today against the league's best run defense.
One thing is for sure with this Giants squad -- winning that Super Bowl was no fluke. This crew is absolutely and utterly stacked at all positions and keeps winning in the toughest division in football.

Brandon Jacobs is manbearpig. He actually had 70 yards in the first quarter, then went into the locker room to get his ankle checked out. The giants should have resigned him in the preseason...the price tags going to keep going up.

are you serious?! if jacobs left, the giants wouldn't be anywhere near as good as they are now. the only reason the giants are doing so well is because manning and coughlin know that they can rely on both a passing AND rushing offense.

Making this Giant team so special is its depth. Third string RB gains 96 yards. Second string TE catches TD. With Plax, Toomer, Smith, Hixon and Moss, Ward and Boss you never know where the ball will go.
All this with trading a ProBowl TE for absolutely no help this year. And OSI is coming back next year too...
