Less than a month ago it looked like John Lynch might be part of the Patriots' plan to deal with the loss of Rodney Harrison. Nothing ever came of it, however, and now Lynch is ending any further speculation about a return to the NFL. He'll hold a press conference on Monday and officially announce his retirement. In an interesting twist on the NFL habit of players signing one-day contracts to retire with "their" team, Lynch's announcement will be attended by officials of both the Buccaneers and the Broncos. Lynch played with Tampa from 1993-2003 and helped them win their only Super Bowl title in 2002. He was a key player on Denver's defense for the last four seasons, but age and injuries caught up with him.
Lynch made nine Pro Bowls and is certainly going to be in Canton before much longer. That will make two Halls of Fame that Lynch will be associated with. His 1992 Erie Sailors jersey is in Cooperstown because Lynch threw the first pitch in the history of the Florida Marlins organization. He was a second-round pick that year, but gave up baseball to rattle spines around the NFL. That decision worked out well for Lynch.

John Lynch....the kind of player you would be happy if your kids emulated. A class act, through and through.

Lynch and LJ are players who have clearly been dinged this year, LJ took a hit to the face last year in the Broncos game, he went right off the field and actually turned white. His behavior change is symptomatic of MTBI. Drinking, depression, erratic behavior is also being displayed by troops returning from Iraq who have been exposed to multiple IED blasts. The suicide rate is astronomically high, another side affect, three kids have died in NJ this year from second impact syndrome. The NFL concussion committee has deliberately created a vacuum of research to protect itself, that stinks worse than any septic system overload, the government must intervene for the sake of these guy's futures. As Hank Stram once said, we're the ranchers, your the cattle, that was forty five years ago. Nothing has changed, because the government has allowed it because they have not imposed OSHA standards as they do every other union. The real question is, how stupid are we, Patriot players have avoided this type of concussion situation with a device unique to their organization. The most recent 2008 FIFA International concussion conference featured a medical procedure that uses a specially designed orthotic mouth guard to correct the boxers "Glass Jaw". Even military research has given this thing an extended look, yet the NFL concussion committee waits and waits as more and more players career's go awry along with their future health. What now, more waiting, what a scandal. www.mahercor.com

As a Bronco fan and a John Lynch fan, I salute you John. But why you support the right wing is beyond me.
