Newly minted Hall of Famers
Art Monk and
Darrell Green will be honored
prior to the Redskins Sunday night game against Dallas. Monk and Green will receive their Hall of Fame rings during the ceremony.
"Art and Darrell are very deserving of this honor and it will be special for them to receive their rings and share this experience with Redskins fans," Redskins owner Daniel M. Snyder said. "This will be a wonderful and memorable evening to celebrate the significant accomplishments of these two great Redskins."
The fans at FedEx Field (a place Monk never played in) will already be rowdy because it is Cowboys Week. The last time the home fans saw their team play was two weeks ago in a loss to Pittsburgh. Those same fans overtook Canton, OH in July when Monk and Green were officially inducted into the Hall.

Every time the Redskins and Cowboys meet up, it's big.
In a game that has playoff implications, it's even bigger.
But this might just be the biggest Skins-Boys matchup in YEARS, and I say that with no exaggeration. Both teams have winning records and are looking to make the playoffs again this year. A loss by the Cowboys puts them at 5-5, but in a division this competitive, could be the difference between a wild card and being out of the playoffs entirely. The Redskins would go to 6-4 should they lose, but they would be tied with the Cowboys and it'd be a definite morale killer to lose at home.
Romo is coming back from a pinky injury. On the other side, Clinton Portis, who has been running like a man possessed this season, is likely to sit out with a bad knee, leaving it up to a hobbled-at-best Ladell Betts (who did, granted, post an 1100-yard season in Portis' absence two years ago) and Shaun Alexander, whom most doubt has much of anything left in the tank. The Redskins are, however, likely to get back Jason Taylor as well as Shawn Springs, but have a bit of depth insurance in the form of new Redskin DeAngelo Hall (who finally, for once in his career, gets to play for a winning organization) should Springs not be able to go.
Of course, the above fact is mentioned. Art Monk and Darrell Green are slated to receive their HOF rings. And speaking of rings, this also happens to be the same Sunday that the Redskins' late safety Sean Taylor is being inducted into the Redskins' Ring of Fame (in the company of the above names).
So, I say all of that to say this - this might just be THE biggest and most emotional matchup between two teams this football season. Redskins fans are going to be watching it. Cowboys fans are going to be watching it. Heck, this matchup is so good, fans that are fans of neither team but just like good football are going to be watching it. Even if I didn't bleed burgundy and gold (or blue and silver, for that matter), I'd still watch this game, because apparently random combinations of different events like these working in tandem make football the most entertaining and lucrative sport in America.

Speaking of rings.
It would be nice to see the Skins receive Super Bowl rings
again in my lifetime.
It won't happen if we keep having terrible drafts!
