It's Christmas In November for Jon Gruden: Cadillac Williams Is Back

Earlier this week we told you about the possibility of the Buccaneers getting former first-round pick Cadillac Williams back into the mix for the team's stretch run. Coach Jon Gruden, naturally, was pumped up about the news as he said today, Wednesday, would be like Christmas.

I don't know, if I woke up on Christmas morning and found a gift-wrapped package that featured a running back that has missed 23 of the past 27 games, and was averaging about three-and-a-half yards per carry when he was on the field, I'd be begging for a new package of socks. But, hey, to each his own.

Anyway, the move became official today as the Buccaneers activated Williams from the PUP list, as reported by Anwar S. Richardson of the Tampa Tribune.

To make room for Williams, Tampa Bay parted ways with Michael Bennett, who, apparently, wasn't happy with the recent treatment he was receiving around the office.
"I really learned a lot from the beginning, to preseason to now. I've learned a lot. As far as the business and understanding it," Bennett previously told The Tampa Tribune. "There are times when you don't want to say you're the forgotten man, but normally it's like 'Hey, hey, how are you doing?' Now all of that kind of fades away. "There are times you walk past people and they [members of the Bucs organization] don't speak to you. Little things like that, those are the only things that really kind of bother me. Other than that, I understand the business and I see how it happens. I can see how guys can get frustrated and lose their minds and lose their temper, but I'm going to stay at peace with mine."
My advice for Michael? Steal a box of pens on the way out the door.
