Last week we heard whispers that Kyle Orton wanted to play on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans and it didn't happen. He just wasn't healed enough from the high ankle sprain that knocked him out of the Week 9 win over the Detroit Lions. After seeing the game Rex Grossman put together, it's a shame Orton didn't get the chance to lead the Bears against the NFL's lone undefeated team. I'm not saying the outcome would have been different, but Orton could have been the missing piece. Being a competitor and the leader of the offense, Orton doesn't want to see a repeat this week when the Bears visit division-rival Green Bay. Last week's loss dropped the Bears into a first place tie with the Minnesota Vikings, and a loss this week to the Packers would drop the Bears into a 5-5 tie with the Cheeseheads.
Orton is reportedly walking without a limp and wearing a small brace. He'll have the opportunity to practice on the ankle Wednesday, at which point we'll know more.
